Samboy Lim back home, elated over child’s tests | Inquirer Sports
MANILA, Philippines—Avelino “Samboy” Lim is back home and is returning to jubilant form after falling into a two-month comatose.
Lim was back at his home on January 14 after collapsing in a basketball game on November 28 and staying in Medical City for the duration of his recovery.
Darlene “Lelen” Berberabe, the estranged wife of the basketball legend, posted in Facebook using Lim’s account that Samboy, also known as “Skywalker”, was allowed to return home after his doctors approved of the set-up facilities.
“Doctors approved the hospital that we set up for him, with all the medical equipment and supplies for Sam, round-the-clock nurse care and daily physical therapy program,” Berberabe said.
According to reports, Lim smiled when informed that one of his sons with Berberabe passed three examinations in school.
Berberabe, the chief executive officer of Pag-Ibig Fund, spoke to reporters after attending a Senate subcommittee hearing on alleged corruption issues in Makati City last Thursday.
“It was the first time we saw him smile because he still can’t speak,” Berberabe said. “He cried for a long time, around 15 minutes, and with that me and my kids also cried.”
