OK naman ang objective ng Isuzu na provide employment sa Pinas by putting up a manufacturing plant locally, but it should have maintained the same trend of offers and line-up of present models consistent with the Thai-variants, just like what it used to be in the past.

Chief, other than mas mabilis ito (see transmission gearing specs on both), mas malakas talaga ang Hilux 3.0 D-4D with VNT since 2001 compared sa Philippine-version non-VNT D-max 3.0 Ddi-ITEQ, pero hindi lalakas itong Hilux na ito kung ang binigay sa atin noon pa ay iyong hood-scoop D-max 3.0 iTEQ VGS Turbo. I've driven both the 4x4 Hilux 3.0 D-4D, 4x4 Navara 2.5 LE "hi-power", and 4x4 D-max 3.0 iTEQ VGS Turbo (dubbed as 3.0 TD Intercooler in Europe) when i was assigned in Spain.... Handling as aspect pati other than power delivery and torque, mas precise ang D-max "hood-scoop" kaysa Hilux....
....Besides, never has the Hilux 3.0 D-4D won in any European 4x4 comparison in the past.... Among the humble distinctions of the old D-max "hood-scoop" was Germany's Auto-Bild and Austria's Allrad Champions 4x4 pickup of the year in 2008, 2009, and 2010, aside from those won in the Australasian region ;)
....But we were NOT fortunate enough as Pinoys in having this "hood-scoop" model in Pinas.... What a pity for a 3rd world society such the Philippines is hikbi!

Mismo sir
....Tapos nagtataka bakit hindi na malaks ang benta ng D-max gaya dati to absorb ang cost of local assembly hay.... No. 6 nalang Isuzu ngaun sa overall car sales sa Pinas. Natalo na sila ng Ford Philippines ;)
Dati ang lakas ng sales ng D-max, noong all Thai imports like the old 4JH1-TC (136 hp, 280 Nm at 2000 rpm).... At this pont in time say 2004 and earlier, at par tayo with the Thai model D-max (and MU-7 was to the Alterra)[.... But after that period, wala na dahil puros Isuzu-Laguna plant na ang assembly line for Pinas at dahil hindi kayang maki-compete sa cost of plant assembly (operating cost ng Isuzu factory sa Pinas which is high in Pinas compared sa Thailand) such that the VGS Turbo option can be made locally, kahit nga sa Australia, directly imported ang D-max "hood-scoop" from Thailand. There must be something (i don't know of though) why they don't wanna make the "hood-scoop" model here - does it entail a section revision of the plant and delivery of engine components for the VGS Turbo, other than it runs only in Euro 3 to 5 fuel, or does it have to entail an engine modification so that the VGS D-max can run in our Euro 2 and dirty fuel (contaminants) supplies in the country?
Harinawa sir, sana this time nga yung updated VGS Turbo na engine, it's an updated/slightly tweaked out 2006 base platform engine of the old 4JJ1-TC standard turbo like our D-max that was designed in 2004. Na-update itong old base engine 4JJ1-TC standard with a VNT or VGT (or VGS Turbo, pare-pareho lang mga yan), hence in 2006 the 4JJ1-TCX came out (previously at 163 hp, 360 Nm torque from 1800-2800 rpm for the manual-tranny, 333 Nm naman sa auto). Sa Europe, Africa, and Australasian region dubbed ito as 3.0 TD Intercooler, whilst sa Thailand 3.0 iTEQ VGS Turbo.
Hanep kapag yang makinang yan ang binigay pa sana sa atin noon pa and that we perhaps won't mind (that we would even love it hehe) to have that 3.0 iTEQ VGS Turbo emblem sa ating mga local D-max at Alterra if everything came straight latest model from Thailand way back in 2006, still as import.... Tapos hood-scoop pati ang porma hehe ;)
....Though we're also in favour of local job generation here the reason why the Isuzu-Laguna plant was set up.... Cheers sir Nabig. Regards.

Most probably ilabas dto s atin kahit daw ung 4jj1 tc lng isalpak ipagpapalit nya eh. Hahaha
Pwede ba sir ipakita nyo ang gearing at speed tables nyo for our dmax vs hilux 3.0 at strada 2.5L?
Pero duda ako na sa akyatan at may kargang 15cavans of rice sa baguio city, who will drive more like a boss?hahahja

In my case (lang naman), not impressed with those looks - the very reason why i don't like the Chevy Trailblazer as it has almost the same striking semblance as the all-new MU-X, or vice versa..... i know they share the body and chassis except the front some of of rear lobes of the body design..... The 8-cross member ladder frame chassis came from Isuzu Motors as original since the beginning that they shared the same engine (old D-max or Holden Colorado, old Trooper and Jackaroo, and old and present Duramax 6.6-litre diesel that they used for their American Chevy's and GMC ---- to include also at some point in time or perhaps at present on selected few Hummers, the engine on the other variants of Hummer). It is only now that for its 3.0 litre and below diesels, mga VM Motori Italia na ang mga engines ng GMC-Chevy. The rest, Isuzu pa rin ang mga engines although the rights of production is exclusively held by GMC hehe (mautak!

Cheers sir!
