Mitsubishi Montero Sudden Acceleration Accidents [MERGED]

Meron na bang tsikoteer na naka experience ng sudden unintended acceleration sa kanilang monterosport AT?

Meron pero wala na sila sa Tsikot..... walang internet sa langit

im not sure kung meron dito Bogart, but a High School classmate of mine did. walang injuries naman yung pedestrian na nabangga niya pero he sold the Montero agad and bought a Fortuner.

Yung brother in law ko naka GT-V pero never pa naman nangyari sa kanya.

i did. but 'twas with a lancer. and i realized early enough that i was stepping on the gas and not on the brake..
and until today, i still swear i was stepping on the brake..
but if i was stepping on the brake, then what was that third pedal to the left of the "brake" pedal i was stepping on?..
my point is, if it can happen to me, a driver of over 20 years, it can happen to anybody.

My Mom's friend got into accident, i thought she's driving her fortuner a/t since they're toyota fanatic and most of their vehicles are toyota. it happened here in cotabato city..

11 vehicles were involved in the incident and hitting a grocery store to stop. she tried turning off the engine but it wont and she put it in N (neutral) but still accelerating hard even the keys were removed. She's safe but the trauma was there, she pays those vehicle involved and her Montero is totaled.

I'm not saying Montero is defective, just want to ask what to do if those situation happens?

I joined this forum because I recently had a personal experience with the Montero Sport's rumored sudden unintended acceleration.
This happened last August 3, 2012. My car was just parked at the office's designated slot, when I got a call from the guard that my car was rammed by another vehicle. I said it was impossible with the position of the parking slot, with a wall at the back and a wall at one side of the slot. In addition, the side without a wall had an island and a parking barrier for preventing the car parked perpendicular to it. But to my surprise, when I got down to the parking, I saw my car almost totally wrecked by a 2009 Mitsubishi Montero Sport A/T, with the driver having the same statement that the car suddenly accelerated forward with a loud humming sound before accelerating towards my car. He said the airbag of the Montero did not activate even though the collision was head on. Before this happened to me, I was also under the impression that the blogs I read about and stories I heard about were just to tarnish the image of the Montero Sport because of its popularity as evidenced by its continuous sales successes. Honestly, it was also my dream SUV, although, it would take a few more years of hard work, luck and God's blessing for me to afford one. After the mentioned incident, I don't want to be a part of a "criminal case, e.g. damage to property, or worse, homicide. I am sharing this so that all of you Montero Sport owners take precaution next time you use it.

Sua, nangyari as akin yan. Las year sa garage, yung fieldmaster binangga sa vios. Bagong gising ako, imbes na brake, accelerator naapakan ko.

Kakabili lang ng 2012 fortuner dsl 4x2 this month. Napansin ko mas malakas ang acceleration/ makina ng aking 2010 Montero sport 4x2.

IMO,, maraming di sanay sa montero acceleration.

Meron siguro pero am sure nag register sila here after the "incident" , pero yung long time regular member here tapos naka encounter ng SUA ng Montero recently, wala.
