I ment Maf sensor,, i am going to have a new unit dhl here.. it really kills power since it controls the fuelinng. I cleaned it again today, but no improvement.

Yeah, if cleaning doesn't do the trick then it's busted already. On my 2001 Sentra before, even with just some dirt on the MAF (using a stock/OEM air cleaner at that), it was already a night and day difference on top end power and i'd get detonation unless i used 97 octane. After spraying it with some electric contact cleaner, it was good as new.

Hi dvldoc and rest of the gang,

Just wanted to ask where do I find a good elgrand for me to buy. I live in Baguio and I travel weekly to Ilagan, Isabela. That's a good 270km drive and I need a reliable and preferably a comfortable ride and that's what led me to think about getting an elgrand. Some questions on my part:

    1. Are parts easy to find here in the Philippines?
    2. Can any trusted mechanic fix it or do I have to go to a Nissan dealer if I have mechanical problems?
    3. Which of the models available here in our country would be the best one to get?
    4. How much would be the reasonable price for a good one?

    Thanks guys!

PS Where are you in Northern Luzon dvldoc? 120kms from manila would be tarlac or nueva ecija. Nice to know a texan here in the philippines. Had the chance to live in Tucson, Arizona some years back and boy do I miss the dry weather of the Southwest (just on the hot humid days) hehe

    I am in Anngeles,

The qd32eti engine is pretty much bullet proof, parts are pretty easy to find because it shares most with the TD27 and qd32 engines. Suspension and brake parts are also easy to find..

I prefer my highway star, other models are the homy caravan, rider, plus a bunch of other in between models, there is also a Isuzu version which is identicle to the elgrand it jjust says isuzu on it.

Elgrands get way better fuel economy than say a starex or many other vans especially if you do a few tuning mods to them.

If u are looking in my area or subic and I am free I would be happy to inspect your potential unit.

That's a good place to get one, I got oil, fuel and a transmission filter at the house for the Elgrand as well as boost gauges, and boost controllers to get the Elgrands performance up. I am getting some MAF adapters made shortly so you can run a cone style filter and ditch that restrictive airbox.

When you got your elgrand from them, was it in good running condition as they say in their website? In your experience how long before you had a breakdown in any of the vehicle's systems? Saw 2 nice looking hiway stars in stock.

Nissan ELGRAND who has one?
