February 28th, 2012 09:20 PM #341I agree. It is totally impossible to evacuate the air from the ordinary rubber wheels so it is likewise impossible to have 100% nitrogen in it. Those in racing (i.e. F1 teams) may have the proper equipment to do that.

Based on experience, I have a Strada GLS 2010 w/ TPMS. I have been a Nitro users for more than a year. I do quarterly checking and fill-up of nitro as needed. I always do it early morning 8am upon the shop opens. The tire is being filled up at 30psi. While it it being filled up and based on the Nitro machine that it is already 30psi, it will also show in my TPMS that it is also 30psi.
While I'm using it for the next 3 month; in the early morning the gauge is lower than 30psi. While you are driving and when it is hot weather, the gauge stays at 30psi. Nitro helps the temperature of your tire at the right level and gauge always at 30psi. It is also a safety from tires to very heat that may explode.
My tires are also more than 1 year but the spike depth is almost still near to a new tire. I never used the spare tire so I use a coin to compare.
There is advantages to Nitrogen air in your tires.

I regularly check my tire pressure during every full tank of my gas. Normally, It is a 10km drive to the preferred gas station and whenever the pressure is check it reads 2.2bar just 0.1bar less of the standard tire pressure of 2.3bar. Never did I encounter during tire pressure check that It exceeded 2.3bar since the pressure will build-up when the wheel is hot.

not worth it if you're only doing regular driving. It's only recommended for those High performance low profile tires with very abusive usage. Regular air is already 78% Nitrogen.
