August 21st, 2011 12:50 PM #3713Hi shibby, my car is a 97 Lancer with a 1.6L Efi engine. I installed an SGI system without an O2 sensor and it has been running very well for the past 4 years already. The installer was Greenfuel who are now located along mindanao ave infront of Veterans Memorial Med. Center.
Without the O2 sensor, we had to make adjustments to the system around 3x to get good power. This was done in the first month after installation. After it was properly tuned, it was running very smoothly na, identical to the gasoline engine performance. A draw back of not having the O2 sensor is that when the LPG runs very low, the LPG kit will not revert back to gasoline automatically and can actually keep on running in LPG mode until only air was being pushed into the system, no LPG anymore. In this case, then engine would still be running but there would be no power, but before this happens, the engine would make a low pitch whistling sound as the low amount of lpg would be sucked into the engine, so I know that the lpg was already becoming very low. When this happens, just manually change to gasoline mode instead. This used to happen to me in the early months while I was still experimenting with the LPG system, today, I just refill the lpg before it becomes very low, so I wont have any problems such as these.
Another thing is that the O2 sensor might have has a lifespan and might need a replacement after a few years. This could mean additional maintenance cost. Even without an O2 sensor, my car has successfully passed the LTO emissions test for the past 4 years already, and no part of the lpg system has needed any replacement.

August 21st, 2011 11:30 PM #3715Wala sya O2sensor. Installation got finished yesterday afternoon. Greenfuel installed their own O2 sensor taking the price 44k for the sgi 60l cylindrical tank. Performance was the same even with no adjustments.
Drove whole day round manila today. I only notice the performance drop slightly when i press the throttle past the 3/4 position. No stalling, no hesitation.

September 18th, 2011 07:30 PM #3716good day everyone
Im planning to have an LPG conversion on my 97 corolla XL 1.3L 2E engine.
Are the LPG conversion kit for carbs being sold by the installer, all the same??? Aside from the difference in price quotation....what else is different from the kit sold by the different installers? Thanks

1. Okay lang po kaya yun na kakalabas lang ng sasakyan ko from casa eh convert ko na po? (maybe after break in)
2. Anong kit po ba ang maganda at tama lang para sa car ko?
Thanks po mga sir.

October 4th, 2011 12:30 PM #37181. ang advantage lang pag sa casa ay you'll still keep your engine warranty but for the expense of the price.
medyo may kamahalan sa casa.
2. sgi kit ang pwede sa car mo.
IMO masyado na matipid ang vois 1.3 sa gas bakit kelangan mo pa epaconvert? i heard na under powered ang vios 1.3 pag kargado mas lalo na siguro pag after conversion (although sgi kit can perform almost equal sa petrol pero may loss of power pa din yan).

Generally converting to Autp-LPG will void the car's warranty, unless you check with the casa if they have certified LPG installers or they are willing to retain the warranty if certain Auto-LPG companies install the kits for them.
Generally SGI LPG kits would be best for your car since your car has an EFI engine.
