September 12th, 2011 06:28 PM #631Guys, quick question.
What is the default spare tire for the Alterra? Shouldn't it be exactly like the other tires (naka mags)?
I bought mine last year and never really looked at the spare tire. I just found out last weekend that half cab yung spare tire ko.

September 13th, 2011 04:23 PM #632Sorry, I do not know what "half cab yung spare tire ko" means. I do not speak tagalog.
I have a 2011 Unban Cruiser which I got in December 2010.
My spare tire is identical (Bridgestone 689) in size and all respects to what is on my 'Cruiser.
The wheel, of course, is different. It does not match the fancy wheels installed. It is what I call a "delivery" wheel.....same size, but much cheaper to manufacture.
To have a "cheap" wheel as a spare is not unusual.
In Canada, a $90,000.00 Escalade comes with nice wheels, but a cheap "delivery" wheel for the spare.
Does this address your query?
Ciao!
Uncle Nick.

I believe what you meant is that the spare is using a steel rim (but with full size tires). If I understand Uncle Nick, the same is with his Urban Cruiser.
Yes, in other countries, it is common that the spare is not the same as the other 4 wheels (alloy) - mostly either donut tire or full size but in steel rim - like the ones used with the Alterra, D-Max and Crosswinds.

September 14th, 2011 11:38 AM #636Hi Uncle Nick, Choyjo and tata_ismael,
Thank you for your replies.
My spare tire's rim is not the same as the other 4. It is a bit annoying, but at least I know now from tata_ismael's post that this has been the way it is for Isuzu since 2010.
By the way, about the "half cab". I heard it from the sales person at Hyundai and I thought it is a popular term to refer to that tansan-type wheel.

September 28th, 2011 03:38 PM #638Guys,
Not sure if this interests you. Anyway just sharing...
I bought a car camera recorder. Bought it from a stall in St Francis Square. It is only PHP 3,300. Quality is acceptable. I feel good having it, knowing that I record all events while driving.
