Yup, that's resetting the ECU. That's sort of an instantaneous way of having the computer re-check its parameters. This is also done when you make some upgrades/mods. Instead of having the ECU 'learn' the new mods over time, you are putting it to sleep and slapping it awake right away.

July 27th, 2011 10:44 PM #1564Has anyone tried this already? Any update?
I travelled from Sto. Tomas to Vigan. Had full tank (sagad up to apaw) and when I arrived in Vigan, still had 3 bars left. Hataw mode pala to.
In the monitor I had 7.6L/100Km ~ 13.15Km/L.
While city driving here in Vigan, my FC is at 11.3L/100Km ~ 8.85Km/L
Is this consumption normal?
My Odo now is 860+, so nearing my 1st PMS. I plan to have it done in Hyundai Laoag, any elantra owners who have experience in Laoag?
Cause I plan to use semi-synthetic oil.
Appreciate your feedback. Thanks.

Yes it's true. You can do that sa mga de-ECU. Sa Honda naman wala na kailangan gawin na iba just disconnect the negative pole.
Sa Hyundai ganun din, disconnect the negative pole, 30 minutes is enough para sure na naka-reset ang ECU. Or pagawa niyo via GDS, better yun.

July 29th, 2011 05:49 PM #1570sounds reasonable, accdg to US Govt. EPA measurements, the car can do 40mpg (hiway) so that's around 17km/li... pero since ang hiway naman sa atin ay madami dami din ang slowdown and re-acceleration. kaya siguro mas mababa. pero not bad na 'yan...
tungkol naman sa oil, normally mga 10T km. sila nag papalit to semi-or fully synthetic oil.
