You may want to include the 1.6A/T elantra to your choices. Naikwento sa akin ng SA ko na meron daw parating na ganitong variant. Price is at 868K if I'm not mistaken. Na-mention na din yata ito sa previous posts. Back read na lang po.

Please help mga sirs. Isang linggo na ako di makatulog, can't decide between 1.6 Elantra MT or 1.4 Accent AT. Sobrang in love ako sa exterior ng Elantra. But sa interior niya may kaunting hesitations ako dun sa aircon vent sa gitna, parang masyado mababa at maliit. Takot ako na baka pag sobrang init ng panahon, baka di adequate ang maging ventilation nya, para sa driver na dapat nakatapat yung aircon sa mukha & also for the passengers seated at the back. Please let me know mga 2011 Elantra owners kung okay naman ba yung aircon nyo. Also, nainis ako na bakit tinanngal pa nila yung integrated na head unit ng Elantra sa 1.6, obvious na sinalpak lang nila yung single din na radio. Dagdag gastos pa tuloy maghanap ng OEM na head unit at tweeters na wala silang nilagay na laman dun sa front.

Yung Accent, nagagandahan din ako pero not as in love sa exterior ng Elantra. Yung interior ng Accent okay lang sa akin, no problems with the looks. Kahit single din lang, parang tugma naman siya sa interior ng Accent. Ang problema ko lang is yung mga nag co-comment na namimili lang daw na higher octane na Shell ang gusto, possible engine knock, and yung malambot daw na suspension, na pag 4 adults sumasayad na daw yung gulong sa kotse.

Please help me mga sirs. Hirap na magkamali. Its like choosing between Sam Pinto (being the Elantra) na sobrang hot at ang ganda pero baka may problema sa loob, or Sarah Geronimo (being the Accent) na cute lang ang labas, pero okay lang din sa loob. : ) Thanks so much!

Aircon is fine, sa panahon kahapon nag frost pa windshield kahit hindi todo aircon. Bihira meron ako passengers, sabi nila hindi mainit sa likod. But nobody here I think has used an Elantra under the full heat of summer kasi incoming rainy season na naging available ang Elantra. Using a good tint would help a lot. Mine has medium Vcool tint.

this was also my predicament before. I was bent on getting an accent 1.4at because it's already a looker in itself, until elantra arrived. i eventually settled for elantra 1.6 primarily because of the following:

1. cabin space - from the driver seat, i can almost reach the front passenger door when i extended my right arm inside the accent (i also did this simple test in my previous getz) and i can say that the width of accent and getz from inside both cars are almost the same. inside the elantra, the space between the tip of my finger and the glass window was still substantial.

2. external design - since accent and elantra have similar design patterns, the key characteristic that swayed me for elantra were the backlights that extend to the trunk , which in my opinion contributed to the overall attractiveness of elantra (accent's backlight does not extend to the trunk).

there are other features of course that set both cars apart such as price (P688k vs. P798k), transmission (at vs. mt), etc. but overall, i think you should get the one the you're most comfortable with not just today but in the years to come. if you plan to keep the car for at least 5 years or longer and if you have kids, also try to imagine how you'd fit inside the car by then

lastly, i'd go for Sam Pinto over Sarah Geronimo anytime of the day

I actually made up my mind on the Accent before the Elantra came, but once I actually saw the Elantra in the Hyundai alabang showroom I decided to go for it. One of the things that I really liked was the 6 speed manual transmission of the Elantra. I live in Laguna and mostly I would do Highway driving so the more efficient the car gets, the better it is for me. With the 6th speed I can get more mileage out of every liter of gas. Also the mechanism for the reverse gear where you have to press a button up to engage it is very cool for me and according to the SC was Euro inspired. But as they say to each his own, the ultimate decision here still lies with you.

shocks is gas type for rear, simple shock parang sa mga truck, mura lang yun ganitong shocks, yun sa harap mc pherson, para sakin d sya matagtag

actually mas gusto ko ang position ng aircon vent ng elantra compare to tucson, strada, mas naitututok ko ang air sa katawan ko, hinde nakaharang ang steering wheel, specially sa tucson, hinde ko gusto vent nya even nasa pasenger side ka. actually ang elantramedyo mas mainit kapag naka tapat sa araw dahil sa laki , at slant ng windshied . nakatapat ang araw sa mukha mo. thats why gusto ko magpalagay ng another dark tint visor sa upper portion ng wind shield, btw naka full wind shield tint ako na vcool
