last week, when i parked outside this computer shop, i left my cup of coffee sa console. pagbalik ko, grabe ang daming langgam dun sa kape. halos 10mins lang ako sa shop kasi nagpa print lang ako.
nakakatakot lang kasi itong insecticide kasi harmful sa health. baka subukan ko nalang ung pagbilad sa araw. sana matanggal..

April 29th, 2009 12:46 AM #83go to handyman. they have this thing called "terro". its a gel like substance in a small bottle. its what i used. Place a few drops on a small piece of cardboard and put it on the dashboard. If ants appear around it, then it's working. It's a poison for ants but its effect is not immediate, giving the soldier ants time to bring samples of the material to their home to share with the rest of the ants.

I can't think of any other way but cleaning your car thoroughly so you could get rid of food particles in your car. Make sure that you don't leave food in your car anymore.

November 8th, 2010 05:07 PM #87Chiefs,
I own a vintage and "lovable" Mitsu Galant. Just would like to share my experience regarding those pesky ants invading my electrical system! Though we're not used in eating inside my car, i'm really bothered about the ant presence in my system, which most of the time gives problems in the electrical functions. Two of the incidents that I had is that my horn and radiator fan are not working. Upon thorough checking, I thought that the relays (bosch type) are defective, but I was surprised that the inner components of the relays were filled with ants and debris which obstructed the contacts and movable parts to work. I cleaned the relays with contact cleaner and upon testing... Walah! It worked normally! I also observed that the bosch relays has a small opening near the terminals which was used by the ants as ingress, what i did is that i sealed it with silicon sealant.
Sometimes, I still see several ants crawling in my car and I tend to spray the insect spray. Somebody told me that an electrical device attract ants, dont know if its true.
Did somebody experienced the same? What did you do to prevent the ants from coming back?
Thanks for your comments and suggestions!

November 8th, 2010 06:43 PM #89Sir MazingerZ,
I believe you're recommending the complete or total detail, does that service covers also the electrical parts? Will it prevent ants from coming back? Most likely it'll be the first time my car will be detailed, sariling punas lang po kasi.
Thank you for the input, Sir
