would a small backing plate do fine in polishing large area?(2ftx2ft)

April 3rd, 2008 05:12 PM #2722just finished reading 137 pages of this thread and it took me 4 days!
i admire the detailing gurus here since ako, regular wash and carnuba waxing lang ako sa exterior detailing. i was hearing na before yung different products discussed in this thread and i never thought na ganun pala ang mga use nila. actually ang swirls nga akala ko talaga hindi na inaalis and when i was reading the thread, na iimagine ko yung mga mali na ginawa ko through the years..hehehe
anyway, i believe it's never to late to start, since ako pa naman gusto ko lagi malinis and makintab tsikot ko (i thought ako lang ganun kasi samin kapag naglilinis ako lagi ako nakakantiyawan!). pero wala pa pala yung selan ko sa mga gurus dito...
i just bought my detailing products (pre-cleaner wax, glaze and synthetic wax) ng medyo high end na for me since formula 1 lang gamit ko before and i can't wait to try it tomorrow since day off ko.
kaya sana mapadalas na ulit mga gurus natin dito para naman may mahingan ng comments..hehe..
anyway, that's all for now. thanks sa tips from everyone sa thread na to..dami ko natutunan!

comrades,
feeling ko kung alam natin yung procedure and tamang product eh we can do the new paint protection by ourselves...maybe, somebody here could share the steps being done and what product or formulation should be apply...instead of us going to famous detailing shop to do the protection for us..
kasi as for me balak ko lang dalhin car ko sa detailing shop only for polishing and acid rain removal. since wrongly use of porter cable might scratch the paint..

I would like to share my first attempt on detailing my car. I used a 3-step combo: shampoo + polish + wax. Here are the pix (sensya na camera phone ginamit ko):
Cheers to you all Tsikoteers!

pero as for me, i'm trying to venture out on different products na (mothers and EO Nanowax) para makita ko naman na iba results and i have to say, lumabas ulit yung showroom color ng car ko using the said products.
very nice reflections on your ride by the way!kintab! linis!

April 9th, 2008 02:29 AM #2729hi guys!
got a 2007 black sorento last july..last month our employee's kids made it a blackboard using a limestone..ayun..daming scratches and circle drawings..they're not so deep naman that you could see the metal. as of now, here are some products i have at hand and available in our area:
-turtle wax carnuba
-polyglaze diamond finish
-turtle wax color cure (black)
will i be able to hide the scratches with these products? which one should i use first and which is last?
thanks very much!

i've tried mother's synwax. its great for a last step product. easy on, easy off and it smells great. hehe.
if your car has swirls, try using mother's sealer and glaze then top off with synwax. the texture of the paint really becomes slick.
