August 14th, 2006 02:36 PM #1namana ko yung laptop ng kapatid ko. compaq evo410c. pentium 3 lang siya. gusto ko sana bumili ng wireless adapter para makasurf ako using free wifi sa area namin.
nag tingin ako and d-link and linksys yung usual brand costing around 2K.
sa palagay niyo, anu mas ok bilhin dun sa dalawa??? kaya ba ito ng system ng laptop (256 ata yung ram????)
basic points to consider in buying wireless adapters???
other suggestions (like other brands etc.)
wala pa ako budget for a new laptop kaya adapter muna.
tnx!!!

Pwedeng makisakay sa thread mo hehe...
When people say kailangan i-"repack" yung battery, what does it mean? Papalitan yung cells sa loob? On average, how much to?
Thinking of getting a laptop kasi, and madalas pang 2nd hand medyo short na ang battery life.

Just dont get Asus adapter. MY notebook is an Asus (with wifi) and my officemate has an Asus adapter, connectivity to our wifi drops every now and then. Others using different brands of notebooks are ok. I think it has something to do with the driver of the wifi adapter.Btw, our router is a Linksys.

I bought a Linksys Wireless G PCMCIA adapter for my old Toshiba laptop. Mahina ang pickup ng signal nung Linksys. Hina ng signal if I try to connect sa 2nd floor bedroom (access point ko nasa living room).
I suggest you bring your notebook to test out the signal strength when you want to buy a wireless adapter card. You can choose between Linksys, DLink, Aztech, Belkin, or Netgear. Try to find one with an antenna, I think it will be able to pickup wireless signals much better.
