Have your tried changing monitor?
I suspect it is just a monitor problem, It could be the monitor cable that is missing one color signal.

Go to Safe Mode then run again all the anti-virus & anti-spyware programs... then try modfying the wallpaper...
I think its a good suggestion for Microsoft to provide a dialog box to bring back the appearances & other settings to default... parang sa mga broadband routers.... hmmm....

October 16th, 2006 11:25 PM #13Ganyan din nangyari sa PC ko di mapalitan yung wallpaper. tinry ko anti-spyware pero di pa rin natanggal, gumamit ako anti-virus may nadedetect na virus at nililinis pero after ko restart PC ko nandon na ulit yung virus. kaya reformat ko na lang. Sa limewire ko yata nakuha yung virus kasi nung natapos ko na yung download ko don nagloko
