April 19th, 2010 09:47 AM #1I have to change the SATA port connection of the HDD every now and then because the pc cannot boot. My other HDD (back up) is not detected. My new video card is also undetected. On-board audio sounds grounded.
Mobo is ASRock NF7G AM2, AM2+ socket.
Any suggested brand? Preferably affordable one. To be used in usual websurfing and bi******* downloads. Sometimes doing simple photoshop.
I saw a gigabyte mobo at around 3K. I am eyeing that.

If you aren't going to play games ... I would suggest the following:
Intel Atom D945GCLF2D (dual core Atom CPU) ITX motherboard
Just install the maximum 2gig DDR2 ram.
Supports Windows XP and Windows 7 very well.
Supports 2 SATA and 1 IDE ports.
This is my computer doing the downloads from *******. Runs 24/7.Last edited by ghosthunter; April 19th, 2010 at 02:59 PM.

April 21st, 2010 10:14 AM #7I already searched that site and others. My main concern is the number of SATA ports. My current mobo has four while the cheap brand new ones only has 2.
Anyway, I am eyeing ASUS or Gigabyte or maybe MSi. What is the best among the the three?
And btw, what should i actually look for in a mobo? basic specs etc like size etc.

Get a decent (i.e. Gigabyte UD series, ASUS) mobo with 785G. Who knows, you might get lucky and unlock the hidden cores of your X2.
