March 13th, 2014 10:22 AM #1This is in relation to the data cap policy of SMART.
I've been using SMART 3g for some time as an alternative to the uber slow internet (around 10 kb/s) in this particular State U hahaha
But starting this year, the 3g service has matched the slow internet connection in our office. I was thinking maybe I exceeded my monthly limit and was downgraded to 2g. But it has been more than a month already and 3g is still slow.
What do you think?

^^^ imhi, smart is not implementing the data cap policy like the stupid globe.
But if you want to check it most android phones have bandwidth monitor. Just tick settings.
One thing I learned from globe is to replace the sim with a newer model.

For those using tablets and smartphones, you can help minimize data use by using the "reduce data usage" feature. This will compress incoming data so it will use less bandwidth.

March 20th, 2014 07:34 PM #7My brother in law said Smart is upgrading their system and 3g service is affected.
But I found a solution to my problem. I put my sim in my tablet. And voila, instead of 3g, I have H signal. Faster than my 3g.

meron an sa settings, pero nabanggit na nila, pwede mo rin i set ang options mo.
or beter use 3g watch dog pro,mas intensive ito mag monitor unlike sa in phone settings,
ultimately since capping ang issue, pwede mo din i adjust ung usage mo in itself,
like facebook, instead of using the app,you can just use the native browser, same results.mas data intensive ung app, since every now and then mag chceck yan for updates.if you still want to use the app,i suggest you install greenify(pero dapat rooted ka,not sure kung me version na silang para sa hindi rooted) and hibernate apps, this will save you battery life and data.since you can hibernate the apps that use data, downside wala na ung updates lagi mo.mag uupdate lang siya pag open mo ung app mismo.
and ioff ung data kung di naman gagamitin.
