okay na yung lappy ko.. just updated the xp using update with microsoft and it was solved.
based on numerous discussions in various websites, a lot of people have been infected with the said problems. it attaches itself to the program that connects to the internet, a program that has something to do with update of windows. microsoft was aware of it, tool them a while though to find a solution.
the patch was also included in one of the update available in their website.
ironic isn't it that the feature which is supposed to make your computer run efficiently became the source of the problem.

spools.exe - is definitely not required - typically viruses, spyware, adware and "resource hogs". (You can try Registry scan for this one.)
Maybe this website will help you how to remove this virus.

March 3rd, 2008 06:55 PM #17it is advised to turn on the Print Spooler service first. You can do it from Control Panel -> Administrative Tools -> Services. Look for Print Spooler and stop it.
If it is already stopped, just follow the next step. Delete ALL files in C:\WINDOWS\system32\spool\PRINTERS. It should have files something like 00020.SHD, 00020.SPL and etc…
Now spoolsv.exe should run but it’s at 0% CPU usage
