hi i just bought a ups due to the erratic electricity these days.. now for my question.. do i just plug this in 24/7 or do i treat it like an avr na i also turn it off when i power down the pc?

You an plug it in 24/7. Power it down only when you would leave your PC unattented for a long period of time. If your PC acts as server, power it down only for maintenance.

If its a small personal one, you could turn it off just like an AVR. AVR used for industrial or commercial purposes are usually not turned off.

I would recommend plugging it in 24/7 as it has a battery inside.
Even if it's plugged-in, the power consumption is very minimal as it only trickle-charges the battery, so no overcharging.

October 3rd, 2006 02:18 PM #5do note though na madidiskarga ung battery while the UPS is off, so you might not have much backup power left when you do experience a power outage

another reason to maintain it 24/7 e para iwas power surge kasi minsan nasisira din yung PC kahit naka-off pero nakasaksak naman dahil sa power surge...
what you can do is leave it 24/7 pag nakasaksak o kaya pag in-off mo na yung UPS, tanggalin mo na rin sa saksak...
