Would appreciate some enlightenment/advice from you
technophiles out there.
I bought this "all-around" DVD player which also has a USB
port that supposedly plays (as per the manual) Mp3 audio and MPEG4 videos.
I thought it would be cool if I could play the YouTube videos I downloaded and converted to Mp4 format on the TV. I converted the YouTube .flv
files to Mp4 so I can play them on my celphone.
But when I inserted my flash drive (containing various JPEG, Mp3, and
Mp4 files) in to the DVD Player's USB Port, only the JPEG and Mp3 audio
files could be played but no MP4 videos!
So is MPEG4 different from Mp4 that's why my DVD player can't
"recognize" the files? Or do I have to tweak the DVD Player setup
in some way?
Would appreciate some help, for not being able to play the videos
is really quite frustrating!

April 4th, 2008 11:34 PM #2anong brand ba dvd player mo?? some dvd players when you insert a USB flash drive will show a WINDOW containing the list of files... first window is for the MP3 music files, 2nd window is for the JPEG picture files and the last window is for the MP4, MPEG files... check if you can see ICONS on the lower right portion of the screen (when usb is inserted and read by the DVD player) use your remote control to navigate the screen and select the icon with (>) PLAY or ARROW icon

Bos Yapoy, my DVD player is not branded (Plardin). Sad experience ko
kasi yung mga branded Players na nabili ko (Sony and Panasonic) in the
past years namimili ng DVD - gusto branded din at ayaw sa
"pirated"! Yung mga China Players kahit ano pwede i-play.
Anyway, yung icon nasa left side ng bawat line (MP3 and JPG).
the total number of files is displayed on top which says 360/360.
Inisa-isa ko all the 360 files pero puro MP3 and Jpeg lang. So if
MPEG4 and MP4 are the same, then it should play my MP4 files.
Anyway thanks for the reply. I'll go in again and press more buttons
on the remote baka ma-tsambahan ko pa!

Yun din nga naisip ko. Baka yung DVD Player ko una pinapakita yung
image (jpeg) and audio files (mp3). Sa dami ng files ko baka wala nang
space for the video (Mp4).
The best thing to do I guess is get a new flash drive and enter only video
files. Siguro naman lalabas na yun kasi puro Mp4 na lang laman ng drive.
Hope it works. Thanks guys!
