If the power adapter is really dead, then it wouldn't matter. But, did you try the little things first such as keeping the power button pressed down for a minute?

If your laptop is common, someone may have the (universal) power adapter for your laptop model. From my experience, more often than not, it's not on stock (especially older models). I often ended up buying one through mail order. My kid's HP laptop is on its third power adapter and my 2007 Toshiba is on its second.

It's Lenovo G470. They said I need an adapter that is 20v (3.25 mah). What's a good brand of adapter?

try to do a safe mode or boot via CD or USB. there could be an update which caused the failure. check the update log for your last successful update prior to failure. you can uninstall it or if you can still rollback to your previous windows version.

also check for failed drivers or incomplete driver installations via the device manager.

much better if you can provide a screenshot para matukoy ang actual problem.

Naputol cord ng replacement adaptor ko I hope I can still buy the same one since my laptop is 5 yrs old.

I bought my replacement adaptor 2 years ago in Glorietta for P1300. My laptop is a Lenovo G470.

I saw this at Lazada. Less than half the price and sold by SM Store. It's not Lenovo brand though.

Splice the two/three wires of the cord (both sides).

Twist and connect each (pair ) of them, and wrap each with an electric tape. Then, wrap everything (with an electric tape).

You're laptop adaptor is good as new.

    Paano naputol?

    "sa plug!"
    heh heh.

if TS does not know how, bring it to someone who can. CVT... dr. d.. ninja, i am sure.. any fixit shop. give the guy 50 bucks for his trouble.
as final touch, use shrink tubing or tie twine on the outside, to prevent un-wrapping later on. (put the shrink tubing in, before you repair it. heh heh)

actually, plug repair is technically easier.
