January 26th, 2013 10:01 AM #9one way to save electricity is too turn off avr when not in use. a typical avr will draw around 5 to 15 watts when turned on. this happens even if your computer is off. the avr itself draws power. also unplug electric fans, tv, and other stuff when not in use. its called phantom power or vampiric current draw.
another way is to inc the thermostat (warmer) on your aircon and use electric fans to move the air around. the compressor will have less load when you do this.
