Just asking because it's not on Globes site. I figure I would ask the experts.
I have a Globe roaming prepaid SIM but when I return to the Philippines shortly I want to switch to Postpaid. Issue is my business cards have my current number on them and I want to keep that number.
Is there something you text to switch to Postpaid or just go to the Globe store in a SM mall or is this not a option and I have to get a different SIM.
Sorry not one of my areas of expertise.

Well even if you know someone on the inside it should be technically possible if that is the case without using a fixer.

The rule is no, this is not possible. You really need to know someone very high up to get this done.

Short answer is no. Telcos pre-assigns number blocks for post and pre-paid. This makes dn route plans easier to manage.

you have to go for a new post paid sim therefore getting a new no.
however there is this feature called Mobile number portability (MNP) that enables mobile telephone users to retain their mobile telephone numbers when changing from one mobile network operator to another (i.e, if you want to switch from globe to smart, you will be retaining your current no.)
i don't know if the local telcos in the phl have already this feature in their networks.
but that's another story.Last edited by chua_riwap; June 19th, 2012 at 12:01 PM.

Di ba sa Singapore, you can still retain your mobile number, including the area code, even if you switch telcos?

Globe will allow you to register your prepaid number and pre-load it every month... so it's still pre-paid, but you have an account and you have number security. Ergo: Lose your SIM, and you can still retain the number.
Won't be able to get on the more flexible unlimited plans, but at least you can load it up every month beforehand. And the load carries over to the next month if you don't use it up.
