I guess it's alright...Ive been here in NYC for a long time and heard a lot of accent, broken english but nobody bothers you ...a lot of smart people doesn't even speaks english, Japs, Germans etc. etc. The most stupid thing you can do is Lumaki ka sa Pinas' then sumablay pa yong Tagalog mo...then that's stupidity and hypocrisy...you dont' belong to any culture or whatever.
ok lah ! basta nagkakaintindihan tayo ok na yun.
can or not?
i remember kwento ng cousin ko, sabi ng teacher nya "simple problem you cannot solution, how can you graduate?!".... then nung kumalat yun, dinagdagan (lam mo namn ang chismis, dinadagdagan...) sabi daw "simple problem you cannot solution, how can you graduation to get certification.."
some common english mistakes that many commit:
1. pronouncing H as etch.
2. incorrect use of response.. "hindi pa nag response eh" should be "respond" ..response sa misa yun ehehe..
3. pronouncing th..as in "throng".. comes out "chrong"
4. pronouncing "body" as "buddy"
5. incorrect usage of stuffs.. plural of stuff is stuff no need for s.. add s when it is a verb.. "she stuffs her bra"
and many more..
actually yung iba galing sa teacher nila kasi minsang yung english teacher eh bisaya kaya ayun bisaya din sila.. if english teachers here were mostly american (like so. korea) lahat tayo yes yes yo! lahat tayo tama ang islang men! dami rin korean kapag nagsalita kala mo kano yun pala laking korea talaga... pero marami din parang may sabon sa bibig ehehehe look at sandara ahahaha
Im not visayan but believe it or not, they speak better english than people from luzon...i mean, they speak like they were born here - hard to believe but most, if not all visayan i've met here in the US and in Canada can speak like its their mother tongue (without the unnatural, trying-hard to speak american accent-english).Quote:

di ako sigurado pag visayan magaling mag english... pero sa mga nakausap ko,mga cebuanos fluent talaga sila mag english tapos maganda ang accent nila parang american english... sablay lang talaga sila sa tagalog, siguro kasi sa dialect nila... medyo matigas ang dila nila (not all)...
i take back their being "bisaya"...alam mo naman kaming lumaki na sa maynila lahat ng may accent bisaya ehehehe! parang lahat ng puti..eh kano ahahaha
