Officials Creating Traffic

Ilang beses ko na nakita ito.

A few weeks ago I saw a TV news report of Danny Lim "inspecting" the cause of traffic along Commonwealth. I actually witnessed that operation in the flesh on the way home at about 2pm. A bunch of officials trying to look important, a row of traffic aids waving their arms senselessly, and a phalanx of TV news camera crews (fixed with tripods!!!!) BLOCKED THREE OUTER LANES approaching the corner turning right to Batasan Road. Hello! The "inspection" actually slowed down traffic. GRRRRR.

And then tonight on TV Patrol, I saw on the news a bunch of LTO officials led by Aileen Lazada and PNP police supposedly inspecting something but BLOCKING THREE LANES ON EDSA, waving their arms as if to show they are directing the flow of traffic, but in reality all they are doing is creating a funnel in the road.

There are countless other times I've seen government officials "observing" or "directing" traffic, but actually just impeding it.
