Why do LED running lights turn off while the turn signal is blinking?

I've noticed in several new vehicles the following scenario:

Vehicle is traveling with LED day-time running lights around/adjacent to the headlights
Vehicle activates turn signal indicator
Vehicle shuts off LED running light while turn signal indicator is flashing
LED running lights turn on once the turn signal indicator stops
Here are the cars I've seen seen this happen:

Jeep Grand Cherokee
Audi Q5
Kia Sportage
Ford Focus
Why don't the LED running lights stay on while the turn signal is on?

It is to highlight the turn signals.

Here's Why Modern Cars Turn Off One Of Their Lights When Signaling

pati sa everest ganyan. para mas noticeable yung signal lights. maliwanag kasi yung drl baka hindi mapansin yung signal.

the reason look this

the drls are off too when the hazard lights are on for some vehicles

Pansin ko lang sa Altis, medyo malakas intensity ng DRL niya, hindi ko napansin agad na naka signal pala siya, magkapatong pa naman yung signal light at DRL. Observation ko lang naman.
