this i can't understand. and the rapings to the point of breaking pelvic bones and the slicing of breasts during the act of s3xual assault. that's way way beyond my comprehension
the torture, mutilation, and murder of soldiers aren't a surprise because it's been happening since time immemorial...heck even in my dad's province in the visayas - this one is an on and off occurrence to this very day. but child killings, killing of seniors who obviously have Alzheimer's and the wanton gang rapings of teens - in this day and age...may God help us all.Last edited by baludoy; December 11th, 2023 at 11:42 AM.

When your voter base is against Israel conducted genocide. but you are beholden to Jewish lobby group and their political contribution...
Unprecedented tensions between White House and Netanyahu as Biden feels political price for standing with Israel | CNN Politics
There’s been anger at the carnage in Gaza among Arab American voters, a crucial demographic for Democrats in a key battleground state like Michigan, where Biden’s poll numbers are suffering.
For all his increasing frustration, the president is pro-Israel to the core and it would still be a huge surprise if he adds tangible pressure to his rhetorical rebukes of Netanyahu. One possibility would be to back conditions on a $14 billion aid package to Israel – although officials told CNN the administration currently has no plans to do that, despite growing calls by Democratic lawmakers and human rights organizations for the US to stop providing weapons unless Israel does more to protect civilians in Gaza.
And that aid measure, mired in bitter clashes between the White House and far-right Republicans, can’t make it through Congress as it is. Plus, Israel believes it is engaged in an existential fight not just for itself, but for the survival of the Jewish people. The ferocity of its operation in Gaza is a signal that it will take care of its security however it sees fit.
It’s not clear that Biden, or anyone else in the outside world, could stop this if he wanted to. But the political cost he is paying will continue to mount.

Self-inflicted casualties

Hamas knew full well that the Israelis would retaliate with force and fury when they attacked innocent Jewish civilians last Oct. 7. They knew that scores would be caught in the crossfire and that the death toll on the Palestinians side would be massive. They went ahead with the attacks anyway. True enough, the Israelis exercised their right to defend themselves and Gaza bore the brunt of Israel’s wrath.
Seeing that they were on the brink of defeat, Hamas launched a pity campaign depicting the Israelis as ruthless killers. While no one can deny the substantial casualty count, many of the macabre videos featuring besieged Palestinian victims were proven fake. It is part of Hamas’ global campaign to vilify the Jews. Hamas quoted 14,000 casualties but no one can verify this since no census was taken. Regardless, certain media outlets took Hamas’ word even without fact checking. Hence, millions bought into Hamas’ pity narrative and took to the streets demanding a ceasefire.
A ceasefire was exactly what Hamas wanted. It would provide them the window to re-group and re-arm.
At first, Israel refused to a fighting pause as it would give Hamas the tactical advantage. But it eventually acceded in exchange for the release of hostages. A truce was signed and the ceasefire began last Nov. 24.
But as expected, Hamas broke the truce. Three Israelis were killed and several injured when two Hamas gunmen opened fire at a bus stop in Jerusalem last Nov. 30. This was on top of rockets fired at Israel. Hamas also failed to fulfill its commitments in terms of hostage release and hostage identification.
Are we surprised that Hamas broke the truce? Of course not. This is typical of Islamic warfare. The Quran dictates certain principles of war, one of them is the Principle of Hudaybayya. This principle states that peace treaties are not sacrosanct but an opportunity to consolidate forces when losing a war. This principle was exercised by Muhammad himself when he broke the ten-year peace treaty he himself signed with the Meccans. He broke it after only two years through a surprise attack.
The second is the Principle of Taqiyya. This principle says that treaties, even when sworn in the name of the Quran, can be broken so long as it advances the cause of Islam.
The Palestinians broke every single ceasefire signed with Israel and others since 1948. Historical records prove this. Commitments made by Palestinians cannot be taken at face value.
So with the ceasefire broken, the fighting resumes. Who will be biggest loser? Who else but the Palestinian people. Who put them in harm’s way? Hamas did – the cabal that the Palestinians elected to represent them and whom they count as their own.
I say “count as their own” because who do you think Hamas is? They are Palestinians. The sliver of Palestinian society who do not agree with Hamas’ principles, values and agenda are too few to be relevant.
Let’s not forget that the Palestinian people elected the Hamas leadership knowing who they are – a radical terrorist group. When the brutal Oct. 7 attacks occurred, the Palestinian people cheered in unison – not one condemned the barbaric acts. When Jewish hostages, including six-month-old babies, were paraded in the streets of Gaza, not one Palestinian cried foul. Instead, they stoned, kicked and mocked those captured. When a young Palestinian fighter bragged to his parents that he had killed a Jewish family of ten, his parents declared him a hero. Palestinian civilians teach their children to hate Jews; Palestinian parents willingly allow their children to become suicide bombers.
Abroad, it is Palestinians who defame monuments and disrespect the traditions of their host countries. It is Palestinians who engage in civil disobedience all in the name of Jewish hate, cloaked in a call for freedom. It is Palestinians who collude to change the systems, values and faiths of their host countries into Islam. They seek not to integrate into the countries that welcomed them but to overrun them through violence. This is why they were kicked out by Egypt, Jordan and Lebanon. It is why no Arab country will take them as refugees today.
All these are symptoms of a decayed society from the inside. They celebrate murder and destruction in a way no one in history has – not even the most brutal despots.
No doubt, Israel will succeed in obliterating Hamas and more Palestinian civilians will die in the process. But the casualties are self-inflicted. After all, it was Hamas started this conflict. It is Hamas who use their people as human shields. It was Hamas who broke the ceasefire. It is Hamas that claims they will not stop until every Jew is dead. Hamas and Palestinians are one and the same.

Israelis call it "mowing the grass."
Westerners call it "self-defense."
Everyone else calls it genocide.

Fatah and Palestinian Authority are viewed by the Palestinains as corrupt and perceive collaborators. US push to get them onboard any peace talks won't get the support on the Palestinian majority.
So called Pro-Zionist Middle East talking heads misunderstood the aim of the Oct. 7 incursion...
US are now forced to deal with Hamas in any political deal... Fatah or better known as PLO were also once a terrorist group too.
This might be the best explanation I heard for "why Oct 7" and, surprisingly, it comes from Ami Ayalon, former head of the Shin Bet, Israel's secret service, and commander-in-chief of the Navy.
He says the "most important cause [of Oct 7]" was "the political paradigm", whereby Israel's policy was "divide and rule", meaning Israel "had to make sure Palestinians would not have a unified leadership" and could therefore always say "nobody to talk with, nothing to talk about". Concretely "in order to do it [Israel] had to make sure Hamas would go on controlling Gaza and the Palestinian authority the West bank", and incite them to "fight each other". This is why Israel "enhanced and assisted Hamas, transferred money, etc."
As a result of all this Hamas "got the Palestinians' support" because "they became the only administration who fought against the Israeli occupation and for the purpose of Palestinian freedom" while Fatah and the Palestinian authority became perceived as "Israeli collaborators". In his assessment "between 70 to 80% of the Palestinians are supporting Hamas, only because Hamas is perceived as the one who fight for [their] freedom."
He says Israel completely misunderstood the situation before Oct 7 because it measures "hardware" whilst Hamas measures "software", meaning that after every fight between Israel and the Palestinians, success for Israel is measured in "losses in human life, in military installations, in military infrastructure" whereas what Hamas measures is "the support of the people." As an illustration he says that in May 2021 - when there was fighting during 2 weeks and around 300 Palestinians were killed (to 17 on the Israeli side) - Israel thought that Hamas "suffered a huge loss and a huge military defeat" but from Hamas's standpoint it was "a huge victory" because this led to Hamas, for the first time, getting "more than 50% of the support from the Palestinian people."Last edited by Monseratto; December 16th, 2023 at 11:02 AM.
