More than 10% of the Filipino population are OFWs. Everything has been told. Manhid lang talaga ang ibang mga nakikinabang sa mga OFWs or either mababa nga ang IQ.

What about kameng mga seafarers na nagwowork offshore? Seems like hindi kame pwedeng tawaging OFW since the descriptions are a bit off...

Again, Malacanang claims credit for the latest GDP figures. Even though it's the same old story since GMA... OFW remittances.

The economic uptick under the Aquino administration is actually nothing new, and builds on the fiscal reforms and macro-prudential policies of the Arroyo administration.

The Aquino administration has proven to be among the most popular governments in recent memory, but its economic policies are not significantly different from previous governments.

"Key growth drivers for the Philippines economy over the remainder of 2014 will be continued strong growth of domestic consumption, underpinned by buoyant remittance flows," said Biswas.

Philippine economy grew by 5.7 percent in the January to March period. The services and industry sectors, which grew by 6.8 percent and 5.5 percent, respectively, buoyed GDP.

OFW remitances are not part of GDP but of GNP. "D" in GDP means domestic but not domestic helper hehehe. Basic macroeconomics which the NEDA chief wont make a mistake of.
