We had it so much better then despite his "noynoying".

San na kaya ang mga reklamador na nagpost before?

    RIP Pnoy.

i was one of those who criticized him (although hindi pala ako nag post dito after doing a back read). i even got into arguments w/ my late dad about his "cold" method of leadership . the stark difference of today's governance is night and day.

I thought he was petty and vindictive during the early days of his presidency, blaming the Arroyo admin for this and that but heck, here comes his successor who would be turn out to be much worse than Pnoy. Pnoy can be faulted for certain things, but he will be remembered for having the cojones to stand up to China's aggressiveness in the WPS, something which we cannot say about his successor. His decision to run in 2010 was a good thing, otherwise we would have witnessed an ex-con return to the Palace.

Noynoy inherited a govt with empty coffer, that sorry state contributed to exacerbation of problems he faced early on his term

the luneta hostage failed due to the bad state of the police lacking equipments that's why he upgraded their pistols from beretta to glock among others

The good thing I see which glory did that helped noynoy a lot was to raise VAT to 12%. This move by his predecessor helped noynoy recover from an empty coffer when he assumed the presidency. With judicious utilization of funds he was able to revive the modernization of the armed forces. Now the airforce have more cargo planes, fighter jets FA50 (served marawi conflict well) and helicopters (2nd hand huey). The navy now have more ships, a mix of brand new and refurbished retired cutters from the US (2nd hand are stop gap measures until the brand new arrives). In stark contrast Ramos funded his AFP modernization by selling part of villamor airbase (resorts world now) and fort bonifacio (BGC now) and yet didnt deliver as much as noynoy did. Noy didnt even sell a military camp

He upgraded the AFP not only due to chinese aggression but also due to failure to resupply areas devastated by Yolanda. They may have prepositioned supplies ahead of the storm but it was all wiped out when the storm passed. Hence, the need to resupply the badly hit areas but then again he inherited an I'll equipped air force. More helicopters and cargo plane could have helped mitigate the circumstances by air lifting supplies immediately after the storm, unfortunately for him that was not the case. Only upon the arrival of the US navy did the much needed supplies trickled in.

He was able to deliver health cards to elderly for free and mendicants by amending the sin tax law. The new sin tax law funded this healthcare reform, Phil health memberships for free for the poorest of the poor and elders. The same taxation reform made philhealth swell with funding which was exploited by the current leaders of philhealth with all the scandals that rocked that agency under Duterte regime

Other programs by his predecessor discontinued due to corruption was the north rail coz in their review it will cost the govt 800 million per kilometer

He didnt stop all glorys project though, he continued the pantawid pamilya program and expanded its beneficiaries

He reformed the education system with K12 program to give pinoy graduates a fighting chance in the international jobs market by leveling phil education system with world standard. Before K12, pinoy high school/college graduates are required to take additional studies before they be accepted in college in countries with higher education standards. Pinoy professionals like nurses used to take additional 2 years before they could practice in australia

He gave free vaccines to children affected by dreaded dengue disease. Although this program has been vilified resulted in the return of polio in the country and reluctance of people now to get vaccinated to deal with the pandemic and bring us back to normalcy. Had he been the president today, Pfizer ordered vaccines would be arriving much sooner compared to a president who shifted allegiance to china. More Filipinos would have been vaccinated by now. More saved, not all dead with more funds in the coffer to spare

And his most notable achievement is a strong economic growth that gave a lot of middle class opportunity to own a car

For your 6 years of service to the nation, SALAMAT ginoong pangulo. Naway masaya ka na sa piling ng iyong magulang

    Sumalangit nawa ang iyong kaluluwa
