She has bad hearing and misheard the quote.
While Cory was dying GMA was dining.
How much does a Congressman/Senator make if they can afford to spend $20,000 or Php940,000 for dinner?
Well I decided to Google the answer.
Congressman/Senator
Step1
Php 40,425 per month or Php 485,100 per year
Step8
Php 48,052 per month or Php 576,624 per year
That's weird because he just spent 2 years pay for that dinner and he should probably not be paid anymore for his service.
I knowthey are given allowances for their foreign trips/assignment. However, I believe they have just surpassed their per diem allowance for all trips they take within their lifetime. Heck, I travel for the government under my job and my per diem for that isn't even close to what these guys are spending and I work for a first world country.Last edited by redorange; August 20th, 2009 at 11:59 AM.

the money is from Malacanang
that's where all the big money goes, comes from, passes thru
it's ground zero
Malacanang has a hand in everything that goes on in this country that involves large amounts of money
it's like another central bank
they are not constrained by a "budget" when they go abroad
sky is the limit
they got ATMs in the living room hehe
all they have to do is take cash out of their vaults and put it in duffle bags
it's all cash
they transact in cash
like organized crime

Well Malacang says they are not spending the money but the Congressman and Senators inviting the President. So let's give them the benefit of the doubt and put heat on the person that paid the bill and once he is under enough public pressure he may eventually tell the truth. You can't always go through the front door sometimes you have to find other ways to catch the thief.
