January 1st, 2007 05:09 PM #2if you want brand new the available mini vans can seat 7 to 8 persons. Toyota Avanza 1.3 J P563K, And the Suzuki APV 1.6 GX P550k. Both have power steering and the rest of the amenities are bare. If 2nd hand toyota hiace and nissan urvans are good. But with your budget they may have either high mileage or a bit old 4 years or higher.

Toyota Avanza 1.3L gasoline engine is a good choice and it can be equipped with a LPG kit (with factory warranty intact) from a Toyota accredited installer. So although gasoline might be expensive, LPG is still cheaper and does makes sense if you consider the fuel cost savings (IF your van will be doing a lot of kilometers a week).
If you are open to 2nd hand vans, Starex turbo diesel vans are affordable, comfortable & spacious interior and uses diesel (cheaper & goes further per liter than gasoline). Just check the unit's condition before getting one.

January 2nd, 2007 11:04 AM #8Two weeks ago I got a 2000 Starex SVX with 61tkm -- its tag was 470k -- am very happy with it.
Of course a lot of work was done, after all it isn't brand new. It's very spacious, comfortable and gets 7.5km/l city driving.
