Very Loud Screeetch Sound on Full Turn

parang umiiyak na gulong, at minsan, nagla-lock pa ang steering wheel.

Nangyayari ito pag naka park ng mahigit isang oras, at sa maniobra ang ingay talaga. Fuego po ito na 4x2. Tiningnan ko na steering fluid, full naman. Nawawala ang ingay pag nakatakbo na.

Ano kaya problem nito.

I think it is what mangyan is telling - a loose power steering belt that needs to be tensioned back to specs. Madali lang yun iDIY kasi meron naman tensioner pulley ang power steering (or if not, me adjusting ay ang pulley nito, check your owner's manual for the details on how to adjust it). Usually the recommended belt tension lax is also written in the manual (or its about 1/4 inch lang na play).

Possible worse case problem, me sira na ang power steering pump kaya nagla-lockup.

malamang power steering assembly na yan ,probably may leak, and it's damn expensive! it cost me 8k kasama na labor, sabi ng mekaniko swerte na ako dahil pag ndi lang power steering assembly ang sira , aabot pa ng 15 k....... basta bigla bigla na lang masisira yan...., basta may loud scrrreching sound pag minamaniubra mo steering heel mo in full stop, pero pag andar nawawala na...:mrgreen:

i don't know if this is related to this thread but while i was running in low speed in an urvan, bigla na lang may loud screetching sound coming from below the van that lasts for less than 10 seconds tapos nawala din naman. happened twice already in a week. what could be wrong? would welcome all your inputs as this has been worrying for me since the van is being used by the children. btw, i just had new power steering belt installed. thanks!

Have the belts and belt tensioner checked. All it might need is some adjustment.
