Pick-up owner here. Just my so-called 0.02 worth on this....
Of the 3 possible things you could do to your pick-up bed,
Rollbars, IMHO, is the one with the least "functional" application. For me, pabigat lang. Mahal pa.
Canopy is useful when you frequently put things there that needs to be "secured" while unattended. Yon nga lang you cannot just routinely haul tall and/or long cargoes.
Why buy an SUV? Pick-ups are generally cheaper than an SUV. If you really do not need the third row...and you value a bigger and more spacious back row for cargoes, then the pick up with a canopy offers a better choice.
What is currently installed in mine is a bed cover.
You have a choice with this, either a roller up or a hard cover tonneau.
So just choose what suits you. But for me, the roll bar is mainly for porma factor nothing more.
