September 14th, 2005 01:05 PM #3there is something loose attachment either sa line, gears or the needle itself ng speedo.

Old school ang speedo ng Lite Ace. It uses a cable and a magnet. Baka mahina na yung magnet. Its not really a cause of concern. Kasama sa aging iyan.
Pwede ring cable as previously suggested.

September 15th, 2005 10:08 AM #5Sir Otep,
problem naman ng revo ng father in law ko is that, once na mag forward na ung sasakyan eh tuloy tuloy na ang palo ng speedometer. tapos kahit 60kph lang sa tingin ko ung bilis eh nasa 120 na sya and continuous hanggan hindi na sya makapalo pa!
ano kaya problem nun? do u think its up for replacement? REVO sports runner ung ride model 2000.

sir innova_boy, my current liteace(jdm model) has that problem...then after a month na ganung problem, the spedo cable snapped...it gave me a real problem, kasi, my suspension is always at the "soft" settings.. dependent pala sa speedo gauge para mag-"hard" ung suspension ko...so i need immediate replacement.
well, nagtanong ako sa toyota balintawak-north ng cable, they say na oorderin pa sa planta ung parts and it cost 4780 pesos! sa banawe, much more pa dyan ang price.
mostly walang japan surplus nyan, kasi mostly pinuputol na talaga mga yan.
may nabili ako dito malapit sa amin.. "saulo" ung name ng shop..dito sa visayas avenue, they have a speedo cable, only thing is its japan-replacement part... and it cost a whopping 450 pesos! but it is 2-3 inches short sa original part ko...
i think pwede mo ipakabit sa kanila din, pero at a additional 100-500 depende sa mga babaklasin sa dash mo...
mine i had it DIY at my garage..a oily, greasy, dusty hand and small scratches did the trick...a bit of advice, kahit di ikaw magpapalit, be sure na ung cable di mageexert ng force, ang it's quite loose...be sure to buy only spedo cables that are almost/ more than your original part.
ngayong pinalitan ko na, constant na ulit ang pagtaas ng needle...accurate pa din pala gauge ko...
so the problem really lies on the speedometer cable.

Saulo? Ang lapit lang sa bahay namin niyan.
Btw, yung isang AMC Hammer sa huling car show, biglang pumapalo ng 180 yung speedo, hindi pa naman ako umaalis ng parking! hehehe.
