mag sir, nu kaya yun sinabi sa kin nun mechanic...sabi nya kung ok lang daw sa akin yun 10 degree timing...sabi ko nu ba dapat? sabi nya 9 deg daw ang standard. sabi ko kung ok lang ba yun 10. ok lang naman daw yun. kaya sabi ko ok lang. nu po ba tinutukoy ng degree na yun?

It's the ignition timing. This is done by turning the distributor and then checking with a timing light.
You can advance timing to gain a bit more power but it has its limits. This is a popular mod among the Nissanbayan crowd.
1 degree off is ok.

July 10th, 2007 05:18 AM #3depende rin kasi minsan sa car - age and make. paglumuwag na kasi ang timing chains mo, the timing also "adjust" a bit... from the stock settings (assuming 9 degrees ang stock).
merun din car make na hindi ganyan ang settings..
to understand more what otep and i are telling you, try to google the word - car tune-up, timing etc.

depende ho yan sa engine (auto or manual trans) and manufacturer, usually naka indicate yan sa emission sticker, most common though is 10 deg btdc +or -2 deg
