tanong lang po kung ano ba sizes ng mga box/open wrench na ginagamit nyo madalas pag nag DIY?
balak ko kasi bumili ng paunti unti ng mga tools ,pwede pabigay na rin ng brand at mga magkano if possible po kung saan kayo bumili?
maraming salamt po sa inputs

open & 12 point box wrenches or combination wrench 6, 8, 10, 12, 13, 14, 17 and 19mm, drop forged alloy steel and chromed plated, marami sa true value at ace hardwares, mura lang

I was able to get a combination of standard and deep socket set for $20, ranging from 4.5mm to 14mm yata. 4.5, 5, 5.5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14 both standard and deep with 1/4 inch drive lang so small ratchet works.
12 points are good when you need them but can't be used in place of the standard 6 point. Maganda yung open/box ratchet wrenches kaso mahal. My 10mm with swiveling head is expensive I forgot how much and not too short (possibly due to less torque applicable dahil sa joint for the box end ratchet).

Open box ratchet is very useful. Maski 10,12mm lang muna, ideally 10,12,14,17 or even 19. Buy the one that has a winge/swiveling, nice for tight spaces. Lotus tools has.
Chrome Vanadium material is the best. Not plated chrome or anything else.

usually mga 10 at 12 mm ang gamit ko sa mga diy sessions ko. punta ka sa raon dahil nung nagpunta ako dun ng tuesday ang daming tools na nakaka-lula
di ko lang alam kung ok ang quality nila pero madami naman pag-pipilian.
btw, i just bought a buffalo brand 43 piece set several months ago , so far so good naman kasi hindi lang pang auto talaga ang gamitan nun sa bahay

November 9th, 2007 09:21 AM #7I usually buy combination wrenches (one end is box wrench, the other end is open wrench) in the following sizes 8, 10, 12, 14, 17, 19 mm. Iyan lang ang sizes used in japanese cars (pati Ford kasi Mazda rin iyon).
It is better to buy these one by one instead of sets kasi sa set kasama ang mga hindi useful sizes (9, 11, 13, 15, etc). I often have two of each (at least for 10, 12 and 14mm) para may pang-contra.
Ang cheap but ok brand is "Venus" usually available at MC Home depot. Comparatively very cheap so pag nabali, hindi masakit sa pocket. Stanley, Husky or other famous brands are better but much more expensive. If you can afford them so much the better.
I also get 3/8" ratchet wrench with sockets (also in the above sizes) and extensions. I buy individual pieces but buy the better brand (Vermont, Husky, etc) because the cheap ones don't last long - specially the ratchet wrench.
Sa compact cars okay na ang mga sizes na iyon. Sometimes there is a need for 21mm, 24 or 25mm socket wrenches pero pang big bolts na ito (lug bolts, axle bolts, etc. Special lang ito ang you can buy as needed.

Always get the six-point wrench/sockets para hindi masira ang bolt head kapag kailangang puwersahin ang bolt/nut. Bolts are ***agonal (six sides) so fit na fit ang 6-point wrenches.
