We had a bit of discussion on this in the Starex thread. I was at SM ACE Megamall this afternoon and stumbled upon a Life Hammer for sale. Originally priced Php 229.75, it was on sale for Php 115.00. Only catch is, the acryclic cover for the hammer head was cracked. I got one. Just in case anyone else is looking, SM might still have some left over.
Also features velcro-type mounting, built in seatbelt cutter, and glow-in-the-dark material built-into the hammer head.

LIFE HAMMER
Grab LifeHammer when the doors are jammed, the seat belt is stuck, and the only way out is through the window. Just cut unreleased seat belts with the razor-sharp knife blade and smash the window with the quality double-tipped hammer.
Life Hammer weighs just over 3.5 ounces and is 6.75 inches in length.
Durable plastic holder holder easily attaches to the carpet without damage to the vehicle and ensures the Life Hammer is always accessible.
Fluorescent knob helps locate the Life Hammer in the dark.

that's a very important tool. every car must have one. make sure that you get the model with a light and a seatbelt cutter.
my company gave all of us one during a time when for some reason a lot of (not-so-smart) people kept driving their cars into our hundreds of lakes and canals and drowning.

It's a useful tool incase of an accident that causes you to drive into deep water. If you don't have one you would have to wait for the pressure inside the car to equal the outside pressure before you can open the doors. That would mean you would have to sit there as the water leaks into your car and drowns you or you run out of oxygen to equalize the internal and external pressure.
Oh and kicking the windows, windshield and rear glass doesn't always work just in the movies.

i guess if you're 100% sure you'll never have a serious accident, or drive into deep water/flash floods, then it's a huge waste of 30 bucks
