June 23rd, 2009 09:49 PM #1Good evening, fellow tsikoteers.
Please bear with my story kasi medyo nahihirapan akong i comprehend ang stand ng Car Dealer ko regarding sa pag admit na merong defect (kahit papaano, since 3month old pa lang ang pickup namin) ang windshield ng service ko. For now, nameless muna ang mga involve na Sales Agent, Branch Manager, Dealer & Insurance company.
Yesterday morning as I was driving to work from Sucat to Makati I happen to notice a small crack on the windshield just a little above the left wiper on the driver side. I immediately stopped in Bicutan (under the bridge) to check what happened. But I can not conclude that somewhere along the way (though SKYWAY PHASE II is at full blast) I got hit by a very tiny, stray metallic object that caused the crack. Wala akong napansing ganung pagkakataon & kung sakaling meron man ako mismo ang hahabol sa PNCC+CITRA SKYWAY. Pero walang ganun. The crack actually looked like it was hit by a very sharp, pointed tip of a knife. Di gaya ng tama ng bato na may "spider web" sa paligid ng point of impact. I immediately called my SA to tell him my story and then proceeded to my place of work. I parked the pickup in covered parking the whole day so as not to "stress" the windshield when exposed to the sun/weather elements. I then decided na bukas ko na dadalhin sa casa.
Dito na ako medyo naiinis nang nilapit ko na ito sa Dealer. Si Dealer, kaninang umaga nung dinala ko ang service para makita, ay ganito ang observation. Pero beforehand I know that these dealers, through their policy, will really try to deny/dispute our claim na may defect/lemon ang item. So with that in mind, I then proceeded to tell them my story. Which is actually what really happened, no stir, no added elements to spice things up.
I was really not surprised at their conclusion. And nung nakita nila yung maliit na maliit na tama ng crack they already concluded na this is out of their warranty and that the Insurance company would then takeover. And we all know that there would definitely be a participation fee. In my case this amount to a little more than 5K.
As of this writing, di ko pa napag dedesisyunan kung ilalaban ko thru warranty or isusuko ko ang laban ang mag gigive way ako kay Insurance. What keeps me irritated is that Dealer is not even considerate with my case . The unit itself is barely 3months old and that who among us in his right mind would want this thing to happen in our ride. No one.
I wanted to know how would you guys react if you are in my shoes.
I'll upload the photo later for you to see.
