November 1st, 2010 04:14 PM #1Hi Ka-Tsikoteers,
Ask ko lang kung anong shop mare-recommend niyo na vulcanizing shop na mapagkakatiwalaan to fix/vulcanize a flat tire (natusok ng concrete nail) for Tubeless/steelbelted tires ng FD civic.
Near Grace Park Caloocan area? Or near Ortigas Commercial district (near Robinsons Galleria, Metrowalk area) kung may alam po kayo.
Also anong method of repair ba ang best, may nagsasabi kasi na best is cold patch, meron naman sabi ok lang yung tusok repair.
At mga magkano kaya ang going rate of repair?
Thanks in advance.

November 1st, 2010 07:02 PM #2Goodyear Servitek offers good vulcanizing serrvices. Cold patch is better than the "tusok" method as long as the mechanic grinds the rubber first before applying the adhesive and patch.
Pag tusok kasi, mas mabilis ang process pero baka may wire na tamaan at maputol, bubukol yun. Hihina tuloy ang structural integrity. At pag tinusok yung tire, lalaki yung butas para maisiksik yung pantapal.

November 3rd, 2010 11:45 AM #4Just to update everyone and share my experience:
Had my tire vulcanized at Goodyear Servitek - they used both cold patch and tusok/pasak method since the puncture was caused by a piece of metal slightly bigger than a concrete nail. I did not see the actual process, but I saw how the tire of a customer, ahead of me in the line, was fixed. They used a grinder before they applied the cold patch. Cost is Php200 for the repair.Last edited by dejakenth; November 3rd, 2010 at 11:47 AM. Reason: reworded a sentence

I always go to Servitek if I need vulcanizing services, may malapit kasi na branch sa amin. Parang may kamahalan yung 200 petot for vulcanizing. 120 lang sinisingil sa akin eh.
