There's this company that's maufacturing Moke bodies in China. According to this guy Paul ( paul*moke.com.hk ), the retail price of a rolling shell (everything complete including roof and side curtains but no engine) is US$8500.00. He sent me these photos (below). Their website www.moke.com.hk will be running in a few weeks. The body is galvanized for rust protection.
Questions for the Mini experts:
1) Is importing a complete new rolling shell a reasonable option towards owning a Moke (instead of restoring a local one)? I've always wanted to have a Moke.
2) How much is the taxation of this rolling shell if it was imported?

IMO,better to scout for a local Moke then have it repair then put the best A+ engine you can get and I believe you wont even spend 5,000$ for yor project. Kayang- kaya irepair ng Pinoy latero yan!

June 18th, 2007 06:12 PM #4I hope to see a volkswagen derivative fr the 70's- the SAKBAYAN being replicate. It's the VW's answer to the Mini Moke. It will bring back memories of the dune buggy era.
Speedwell Restoration in Alabang already did a complete mini moke shell about two years ago. It was a perfect copy.

I'd rather have a brand new Mini... preferably with a licensed Suzuki K10 engine.
Not bad... but how much will it cost? If it costs more than 300k here, that'd be too much.
Ang pagbalik ng comeback...
