January 4th, 2017 12:46 PM #1How do you guys plan on purchasing a new car? I read this blog recently, that talks about how you should actually plan for it. 5 Tips For Buying A New Car | Kevin Thatcher Seriously speaking, I only plan on how to purchase my favorite car. I never measure the actual travelling needs. However, budget is something that I always keep a check on.

Napangiti naman ako ako rito...
Malaking problema ngayon ng isa kong dating kasama sa trabaho... Bibili siya ng Toyota vehicle [FJC],- cash....
Sabi ng Toyota essentially,- "our vehicles are not being sold on cash basis"...
Ayos! Malaking problema nga naman!!!

Not planning at all. I will buy when I need it and when the cash is ready.
For my last two buys, it is because my other cars are undergoing repair.

Medyo nag summarize lang yung article.
Pwede pa bawasan to just 2 questions for yourself...
1) Need versus Want - ask yourself do you really need it or if you just want it?
2) Your financial capability - will you be able to shoulder the running costs? Pms, registration, insurance, fuel, parking, toll, unscheduled repairs, monthly ammortization etc.
Dyan pa lang sa dalawang points na yan pwede mo na malaman kung kakayanin mo to get one and madami ka naman mapag tatanungan
Sample ng running cost for fuel and PMS lang

first satisfy the "want". the "need" can be taken care of later with another purchase.
and don't worry about cost. never let the neighbor know you eat tuyo morning, noon and night by keeping the windows closed.

1. Need
2. Budget: acquisition + maintenance + sell-ability (not necessarily resale value. I just want to be able to sell it easy enough when i want to and not have it languish in my garage)
3. What can i do with it (aesthetic and performance modifications)

January 5th, 2018 09:31 AM #9Hi there!
I'm planning to buy my first car. I used to drive our family car before but I really wanted a car of my own. In a few months, I'll be able to purchase the new ***y Honda Civic RS Turbo. However, I saw 2nd hand cars on this particular website and there were 2010-2013 Chevy Camaro that is on sale for about 2m. Ford Mustangs as well. There are tons of Toyota 86 or Subaru BRZ, 2010-2014 model as well, which is cheaper compared to the price tag of Civic RS Turbo. All well mantained and low milage.
I just want to ask if it's worth it to buy a 2nd hand luxury/sports(idk what to call them) car?? Or should I stick with the RS Turbo?
I don't know how much is the annual maintenance cost of the 2nd hand cars that I mentioned, like gas, insurance, etc.
If anyone can enlighten me with this, I'd really appreciate it. Thanks!
