Looks like someone aims to dethrone recall-whore Ford as the king of spontaneous combustion.

Hehe, actually matibay ang mga Ford Trucks and Suv. Pang lifetime use sa US mga yan, specially the F150.

April 15th, 2011 09:21 PM #4Ford is the king of recalls. Kaka recall lang nila 1.2 million F150s due to airbag issues.
In 2008, they recalled 14 million vehicles, dwarfing Toyota's.
Sila rin ang hari ng spontaneous combustion. They recalled millions of vehicles last decade due to defects on cruise control. The buttons can catch fire(!)

Its a fact that Ford vehicle Quality has improved greatly in the past few years specially after Alan Mulally became Ford's CEO.
Its better to recall a lot of those old Ford models than to cover it up like what Toyota did and create a false image that their vehicles are perfect and don't need to be recalled.

April 18th, 2011 04:00 PM #7"(Ford) had concealed signs of failures that were occurring at an astronomical level, at a figure far beyond any measure I have seen before. They were telling the agency they didn't know what was causing stalling while they were doing extensive studies showing they knew what was causing the stalling."This Ford auto defect problem continued despite reports of fatal and serious accidents as well as customer complaints and warranty claims. The former NHTSA top lawyer for defects and enforcement issues, Alan Kam, told the New York Times that Ford's handling of the ignition part called the T.F.I. module is the largest cover-up he has ever seen by an auto company.
It's a fact that Toyota is still the most reliable non-luxury brand ahead of Honda and Ford per the latest JD Power survey.

It's a fact that all car manufacturers have recalls. Kaso the latest is always the "in" company in the hot seat. Although I agree that Ford has recently been developing very high quality cars and that Toyota admitted their mistakes (albeit slowly) and is now taking the necessary actions to reclaim lost honor as we should say.
Malas na lang talaga din nung iba, may mga lemon cars pa rin talaga eh. Tao nga na gawa ng mas nakakataas nasisira, yun pa kayang gawa lang nating tao.Fasten your seatbelt! Or else...Driven To Thrill!

April 19th, 2011 03:03 AM #10About Ford quality though, my brother in-law actually has a higher end (the most expensive 4x4 kind) Ford Ranger/Trekker pickup (not sure of the model year 2008-2010 yata). It rides nice. Mas gusto ko pa ang ride quality niya compared to their also new Civic (probably because it's longer wheel-based). Pero ang hina ng signal reception ng head unit kahit nakataas na antenna. Mas malakas pa FM reception ng mga walang brand na radyo na nasa loob ng bahay.
At 25K km pa lang may kalawang na sa isang rear wheel arch.
