hello... i've also experienced that with my opel vectra. usually happens when i open ung aircon.... ung cyo ba paano namamatay ung makina? wala bang symptoms?

sir majinbu usually kapag nag diin ako ng gas pedal, madalas na choke yung makina then mamatay na. pag naka-aircon ko lang na experience yun. and sir yung spedometer ko bigla sir hinde gumagana pag nag light yung TC and ABS light sa panel. ang dami problema sa electrical ng kotse ko, waaaaaaa. im planning sir to bring it to fronte pag may time. sana umayos. ganda pa naman ng porma ng mga vectra.

actually girl po ako hehehehe... it started with me when my alarm goes haywire. tinamaan lang ng water or naihian lang ng aso ung mags nag aalarm na. one time hindi na cya nag alarm pero dead nman na ung battery. i used the battery of my old nissan tapos hindi ko na ni set ung alarm. it worked a bit. one day i'm in southexpress way, going to work. naka aircon and all, mejo traffic and i had to steer to the right at mag iiba ako ng way... biglang namatay ang makina! i did like what others do, i closed the aircon, lights, CD... then ung key switch. pero pag on pa lang ng key... nakita ko na nag back sa "0" ung sa ODO not the main odometer pero ung sa itaas niya. I knew it was a battery problem. Hindi na nag start ung auto. Pag turn ko kasi para cyang na choke, just like what you've mentioned before. Ang mahirap pa nito... nag immobilize na cya... hindi maka break... hindi maka turn... hirap na hirap ung nag tulak para hindi ako ma tow sa gitna ng daan. I waited for a mechanic para ma jump start ung auto. They also checked kung baka alternator. Pero so far hindi nman un and problem. The following day, i bought a Carb and choke cleaner (filtex) mejo hindi na cya nag chochoke. Yes, I believe na madaming issues sa wiring din and vectra kalaunan. Kasi sobrang lakas ng hatak ng auto pag walang aircon. Pag turn on ko palng ng A/C at wala pa akong ni lalagay na turn to 1, laki ng change sa rpm, halos mamatay ung makina. I know na cympre iba ang takbo pag meron aircon, pero ito parang half ung hatak na nawawala sa auto. I didn't experience it with my nissan before. Share nman kung maging maayos ung auto mo. Baka kasi un din ung problem ng auto ko. Pero have them check ung sa fuel system baka kailangan lang i carb cleaner ito.

anyhow, meron na nman problem ung opel ko (sigh) gamit ng mga kapatid ko kanina and namamatay daw ung makina pag nag aircon. meron daw tagas ung oil. so they went to the gasoline station. inaabot ng oil ung spark plugs. ilang buwan pa lang sa akin ung opel. bought it 2nd hand from a friend. i was asking him kung pwede papalit sa ibang auto na binebenta din niya. honestly, wala pa akong pinapalitang parts. I had the radiator overhauled, though. Un din ung mejo problem ko kasi lam ko na hindi ganun ka available ung parts niya, not to mention mahal pa. Ung mekaniko dito sa amin mejo nagagamayan na din ung opel. Based dun sa ibang forums, hindi nman daw cya ganun kaiba sa ibang asian cars, unlike ung system ng BMW or Benz.
A friendly mechanic from Caltex Makati recommended me to a mechanic din na gumagawa ng mga chrysler, opel and other euro cars. If u like i can give his number. He does home service. I haven't met him personally pero highly recommended cya nung mechanic, kasi cya ung taga ayos ng mga auto ng boss nila.

Hello Bluecoupe: I noted your comments above about a 2001 wagon, I was offered one for sale with 50TKms, at Php 290k. Can you tell me more about the any repairs, problems you have had to fix on the car? tks.

Spare yourself the HEADACHE if you are not a serious car person, OPEL parts are hard to come by. Servicing can be expensive. NO JOKE

Hello Hein,

Tks for your "warning," I have heard a lot indeed. I trust that with me long ago experience in repairing cars, I will not be left hopeless though I agree, maintaining them is more of a "hassle" than with a toyota...hehe. This is why at the least I wil buy one only if at a low enough price
