I am using all surface cleaner, which is a water based degreaser/cleaner instead of kerosene or oil based cleaners available in the market. I used to produce and sell this before (as a hobby) until I stopped and nagshift sa ibang business a few years back. I don't know any equivalent which is available in the market today. However, after removing the dirt and grime, I used high gear multi purpose protectant (available in handyman) for the plastic and rubber components.

Oo nga nagmukhang bago ulit yung engine bay and ang sarap tignan. Parang newly delivered yung GL ko. Sana nagawa ko ito before our EB para nakita ninyo. Anyway a little elbow grease and a lot of patience can come a long way.

*alnr, bro, group buy tayo sa dash board compartment at yung takip sa front shocks if merong mabibilhan. Kursunada ko din yung front stabilizer bar.

Thanks sa instruction at natakpan ko na yung inlet sa harap para di pasukin yung cabin using foam sa taas at duct tape sa baba.Binilhan ko na din ng plastic matting kagaya ng kay 2Youta ang back comparment. Medyo sinipag din ako kanina at nilinis ko yung engine bay ko pero di ganun kalinis compared kay lydemer

marckd1, oks lang yun. Slowly but surely, isa isahin mo ang paglilinis ng engine ng GL mo and soon magmumukhang bago na yan. Maybe I can do a write up on how to clean up the engine bay in the future, with pictorial para madaling sundin. Congrats din sa DIY mo. Itututro ko din on how to clean the interior of the GL using the all surface cleaner (yes its also safe sa interior ng GL) since the beige colored interior makes is susceptible to dirt.

alnr, interested ako sa shock mount covers so when you get the group price, sama mo ako sa mago-order.

To all who are covering the air inlet holes with foam, you may want to take a look at an additional hole near the 2nd (smaller) inlet that you may want to cover since I think this hole is a provision for left hand drive GL's where the wiper motor and assembly is placed. I placed 3m (industrial) 2 sided adhesive sticker to cover it just to make sure all areas where smoke can come in is covered.

oo nga alnr, its also good to share these stuffs to the guys para next time pang show room condition na ang mga GL's natin. In addition, I think the dirt and grime also increases the engine temperature so removing the dirt and grime, helps the engine cool faster. Overtime, mahirap nang tangalin yung dumi since the dirt can harden overtime and you need a detailer to remove it.

Thanks also for taking the effort to canvass the shock mount covers. Can't wait for it to come so I can install it in my GL. These are small things which should not have been removed in our units since corrosion can form in our shock absorbers and mounts and it will be a nasty and expensive repair for us GL owners if left unchecked.

congrats sa EB nyo! sana naka daan kami pero had to be somewhere else nung sched ng EB. malapit pa man din ako dyan sa metrowalk (pasig ortigas-yung binahang side).

salamat din sa mga tip. kung maka-order ka sir alnr ng shock mount covers, sama mo din ako. sa pre Christmas EB pwede siguro magbigay ng payment if needed. sana yung dash compartment (in place of airbag sa mga mid variant) meron pang left hand drive. kung meron, sama ako sa order.
