The one I have is Highway star 3.0 quite good lakas humatak shift okay
ang problem mahirap mag change oil since converted to lhd may nakaharang na metal part sa oil filter. BTW this Van is better than Alphard
mas maluwag sya. medyo maingay lang engine ng 3.0 compare mo sa 3.2 or ung latest ngayon na 3.5.

try to read back a few pages. maganda ang neo di engine pag bago. pero when the mileage piles up bibigyan ka mas malaki problem nung fuel pump, etc.: ayan ang medyo pricey specially kung wala naman backing ng casa, better get another 3.2L na lang kasi i understand your reluctance na magpa-overhaul, mahirap makakita mechanic na mahusay who can overhaul you an engine that will last the same no. of years as the original.

try ko tumingin dito sa mga surplus shops sa area namin. i'll report back if i see a good one. in the meantime pwede mo din check-out blumentritt sa antipolo street.

Before you go out and spend 150000P on a new engine why don't you try these checks first.

Over boost in the Neo diesels will cause blow by. Multiple things as I have posted on here can cause over boost. I would first look at the MAF sensor and see if it is dirty.

Second EGR system remove and inspect it. Many times it will be blocked by carbon and this will cause your motor to behave just as if you did the EGR bypass modification and you can see up to 6psi more boost over stock.

A simple manual boost controller limiting the boost to the stock boost will also cure this problem, over boost can also kill the turbo and pop a head gasket.

I would try these first as well as cleaning the intake manifold because I can assure you it's filthy with carbon and soot on a stock engine. Manual boost controller can be had for under 2000P install that and get a boost gauge and set it to 10psi and you will know if you have a simple issue to fix or not.

Finally got back to the Philippines, I got to say compared to our 1999 Starex the Elgrand rides like a Cadillac no comparison in these two vehicles in power or features, Steering is smooth as silk on mine, one finger gets the job done on it.

whoa! we got to sample dvldoc's el grand yesterday at clark. deym it's fast for just those mods. there were 4 of us inside and you could really feel the acceleration. nice 1 dvldoc! but i hope you could fit the lpg tank outside as we recall getting a whif of the gas... or it could be just our imagination?
