Yup, GS brake pads last around 15Tkms?
And then may kalampag sa may sliding door na di ko ma-isolate. With the Tucson there's noise from the tailgate. The shocks last around the same kms as the brake pads. The rubber bushes of Hyundai seem too soft.
I didn't consider the Escape too, as pricing seems high. Also looks small compared to the X. You could try the Forester if you don't mind a stiffer ride. The 2.0 entry or premium models have good low rpm torque (for a 2.0). I just didn't like the ride. There were 5 of us and still the ride was still a bit stiff (maybe due to the auto leveling struts in the back). The finish of the Subaru is tops, even underneath, at the seams, at the corners and edges. It's like a high end watch, even the places that can't be seen are finished well as if they were made to be seen. The premium 2.0 is really something. Sunroof, motorized auto close/open tailgate (operable by smart key), torquey boxer engine, curtain airbags front and rear, HID auto on headlamps, front UV protected glass, two tone interior, leather seats, etc, etc. Bagay na bagay sa binata. Seems like a steal at 1.6M.
Everything was nice except the ride and occasional pitchiness of the CVT at low speeds.
BTT we've ordered a silver 4x4. Silver na naman. Wala kasi mapagpilian masyadong kulay.Should arrive this November.
A fleet of X's for Unlilab? That's a sight to see. Daming talaga nilang pera.

I feel the same here in the US. Most city driving involves going from one stoplight to the next at 35-40 mph. The most maneuvering we do are lane changes and cornering at intersections. Even a minivan is excellent at handling such mundane tasks. The parameters which would test the individual handling of each vehicle simply aren't there in city streets.
The only sporty thing we can do in city streets here is a stoplight grand prix. They're perfectly legal so long as you don't spin the tires or exceed the posted speed limit (well, not go 5 mph over).
As for the CVT...... I'm not sure why the Nissan CVT gets a bad rap (from US drivers here; mainly about lack of mid-end punch). If you drive a car long enough, you'll eventually figure out a method to get the best acceleration. The Rogue is no exception. I found out that a steadier application of gas gives better acceleration than just stomping on the pedal like I would with my 3.3L V6 Sonata.
Ours is the 2013 body style Rogue. It's 2.5L engine is no V6. But, it's quite peppy on city streets.Last edited by Jun aka Pekto; November 7th, 2014 at 12:36 AM.

Test driven the nissan xtrail today, both the 2.0 and 2.5 model. We are eyeing on the 2.0 model however during the test drive we only got a fuel economy of 6km/l. Is this normal or maybe because the car is still new? It wasnt that traffic, just stop and go because of stop light. Now leaning towards the MU-X

Nag test drive din ako last week. 6.2 Kms per liter sa computer. Pag Naka off yun Eco mode 6.3Kms per liter. Normal naman yan ganyan consumption pag 2-2.5 liter gas engines ex rav4, crv. Wag ka main wala sa 12 Kms per liter daw pag city. BS yun. Pwede yun Kung mild traffic flow Lang na Naka off aircon tsaka pababa yun kalsada hehe

May nakausap ako sa Nissan Southwoods na ahente at sabe niya 16km/L consumption ng 2.0 variant. Natawa nalang ako. Confident na confident kase. Even my Ecoboost won't reach that consumption maliban na lang kung puro NLEX dadaanan ko everyday. ;)

November 7th, 2014 06:15 PM #168I think there should be emphasis that the 2.0 can achieve 16km/l, strictly highway only, in 4x2 trim. As it has been tested as well in the jc08 cycle and with my experience with the 1.6 Syply CVT which also has 16.2km/l on the jc08 cycle test for highway only, I already reached and broke that.
Is 10km/l feasible, perhaps in 30kmph to 40kmph average traffic I would assume.
So I would take that into consideration. Average speed throughout a certain trip is quite a big factor that could tank your FC.
