August 7th, 2012 09:46 PM #1I know that I might get flamed a lot for this, and this post is not a flame bait. I just want to understand kung ago talaga un point ng stanced, o VIP-style, o hellaflush, whatever you call it. Nabasa ko parang form > function. Really? Form un? form ang sayad na and gulong sa body? or naka camber at a very large angle? ganun na ba and definition ng form ngayon?
In terms of function, since nde naman sinabing walang function ang hellaflush cars, can you actually ride or drive in that? is it supposed to be driven only at 5km/hr tas driver lang at walang ibang sakay? sa sobrang baba nya, i can't imagine it being driven anywhere na me humps kahit 2 inches lang ang height without slowing down. so is it meant to be driven only in very short distances o pang show lang talaga? I'm a fan of a lowered car as much as the next person pero c'mon.
Kasi sa akin, a car, in whatever shape or form, is supposed to be driven. Otherwise, what's the point? I-frame mo na lang if nde mo gagamitin.
I saw one before sa me exchange road, i think it was a civic eg hatchback, before i heard about this VIP thing. Akala ko sira kasi nakausli na ing wheels palabas, sabi ko kawawa naman. Tas me nagsabi sa kin, baka naman VIP style? Sabi ko huh? meron ba nun? Apparently meron na nga.
I don't know if this is a flash in the pan, uso-uso lang, much like drifting. Me time na an gaming gusto idrift un kotse nila nung mauso ang Initial D. Now this. Although I don't think this would catch on as much.
Anyway, is it just me that's feeling like this? I must be getting soft in my old age. hehe.

There's a small local community that follows the hellaflush style: Manila Fitted/Stance Pilipinas.
Tanong mo sila kung anong trip nila...
Pagkakaintindi ko kasi diyan, it's really Form > Function. Nothing else. Looks talaga habol nila.
We can't blame them. Maganda naman kasi talaga eh. But it's not practical.
My previous car was lowered, but not to the extent that I needed to have a negative camber or stretch my tires para lumitaw yung lip. 2" drop lang then I rolled the fenders.
Nanghihinayang nga ako sa states eh, STi, EVOs and other performance vehicles are flushed. So nawala yung function nila to go fast. Sayang. Akin nalang sana yun, lagyan ko ng performance tires for better grip, a lower stance for stability pero hinde flushed.
Pero yun nga, to each his own. Hehe.

well, tama sabi ni renzo, kanya kanyang trip lang yan. at the end of the day you satisfy yourself and if having a vip-styled car suits your taste, by all means, go for it
