May 29th, 2014 01:38 PM #1question about engine break... Nag caucause ba ito ng mas mabilis na wear and tear sa tranny and engine.
Sa manual kase it says better to use engine break than prolonge used of breaks or combination of both.
I usually go down sa parking from 7th floor of the parking building just in first gear, using 2nd gear sobeang bilis naman pag free wheel breaks naman. so perfect speed for me is just stay in 1st gear. I've been doing this for 2 years since nabili ko ung adventure ko.

i believe engine brake is useful not only pag pababa, i do short engine brake din, pag curves, i keep my distance sa harap, then change 1 gear lower, causing a bit of brake ..... di na gagamit ng brakes, then, accelerate after the curve...... then quick change gear 1 higher.....

Last edited by jaypee10; May 30th, 2014 at 02:46 PM.

May 30th, 2014 02:30 PM #10anything excessive is bad. use engine braking only when you need to. use your brakes only when you need to. drive at the appropriate speed. as long as you do not abuse your car, then normal wear lang ang mangyayari and not excessive wear.
