Most new cars are equipped with multi-speed cooling fans.

(Was this directed at me?)
Absolutely.
But the original contention was that the new Montero was somehow "tinipid" by not including an electrically-powered aux fan, even when the necessary mounting points and other hardware were already built-in. This was addressed a few posts back as being true only when sold with the older generation engine.
As it is, it doesn't need an aux fan. It doesn't require it. But if your guts are killing you to install one, it shouldn't hurt the vehicle.

December 27th, 2017 01:41 PM #79It can hurt. Depende na lang how you look at it.
Typical car electric fans pull 10-14 amps, not including starting amp(which is a lot since AC system cycles a lot.) Sabihin na natin additional 150watts of power from your charging system. I recalled may thread na dito regarding USB chargers and dash cam electrical load concerns? Hehe..
Not only that, if any thing happened on your 2-3year old car relating to this, sayang warranty.

It's unlikely. The 'art' of adding aux fans has been around for ages. For as long as the OEM fan was used (which is the gist of this thread), installed, and wired correctly, it should be fine.
Warranty is a different story. The owner should understand that if vehicle damage occurred as a direct result of the mod, then the dealer can refuse warranty coverage. If the mod did nothing to effect the fault, you should be able to make a claim. The burden of proof that the mod caused the fault rests solely with the dealer.
