February 8th, 2014 12:20 AM #1Hi, bago lang po kami naka bili ng Strada GLX 2.5 MT last December 2013. Brand New po yung unit na binili namin kasi marami akong kakilala na 2nd hand yung mga binili nila na sasakyan halos every month may sira ang sasakyan nila kaya we decided to go with brand new.

February 9th, 2014 01:05 AM #4Hi and welcome to tsikot.com
There is a specific thread for strada (just search it by typing in the searchbox above) covering all the issues that you should look for.. Given the age of the model, i think most of those issues were sorted out and casa are very much aware of what to do.. If you are new to turbodiesels, lots of pointers were also discussed in here like some common topics:
- why high detergency oils must be used with commonrail turbodiesels..- why you should often replace fuel filters
- commonrail operates in tight clearances and high pressures so diesel cleanliness should be looked for..
- why environmental devices such as pcv, cat, egr, etc degrades the performance of your engine. What the owners do to counter such reliability probs like catch can installs, cat delete, egr blanking, etc..
- limp mode, scv, fprv, fuel pump, injector failures
- turbo must be cooled down after a boost to avoid oil varnishing the spindle that could lead to turbo failure
As for your worries, my advice is.. Just maximise and enjoy your new ride.. As long as you maintain the PMS schedule, the warrantey shall take care of any part that could break. Also, all the maintenance procedure are printed on the warrenty booklet the dealer gave you, recommendations are also provided.. Think of the reason why you bought it B'new, its for your 3yr worry-free ownership, ryt? After warrenty expired and you did not availed any extensions, that's the time that you should worry..
