Nag SuA Na din Dati Yung sasakyan ko... Not a Montero... Ginalaw ko Kasi injection pump... Para lumakas pa Ang hatak....
Ganun din ang effect, parang binuhusan ng isang katutak na diesel ang combustion camber.. Buti nalang it happened sa Startoll... Downhill and naka engine brake Ako more than 10secs... Mabuti at wala akong kasabay at that time.. Pero humarurot talaga... Kahit mag preno ako umaarangkada pa din... What I did was just turn off the key na.. Kasi Nung nilagay ko sa nuetral Umabot 5.5rpm.. Then it happened again... Nung Naka idling AKO NG matagal.. Nung pinasok ko sa 1st gear, Bigla nalang nagwild... Then Sobrang usok... Na white and black smoke.. Nuetral and brake then turn off Lang....
Symptoms na Napancin ko before mag sua.. Malakas sa diesel compare sa normal..
Then binalik ko Lang Sa dati yung settings ng injection pump.. Hindi na ulit nangyari....

Sa trooper 4jg2 din nangyari yan sa amin. Went wild due to faulty injectors. Buti nalang na neutral ng dad ko kaagad. Pero its an old vehicle that lacked maintenance. Injectors badly needed calibration. Problema sa mitsubishi mukhang hit or miss. Yung iba premature failure siguro. All we can do is speculate. IMO, its not driver's error but quality control, but thats just me.

Actually very possible with the thicker floor mats. This was the finding in the Toyota case in the US... not a throttle error, but extra thick floor mats which could pin the gas pedal and bunch up under the brake at the same time.
The manufacturer solution? Cut the floor mats around the gas pedal.
This is another thing I don't get about SUA... in your case, there is a known cause and there are signs before it happens... then afterwards, it still recurs. The same with the inhibitor switch failure (the one that puts the Monty in neutral).
In SUA cases, one time big time. Then that's it.

*Djerms... hmmm... interesting idea... so injectors degrade... start leaking extra fuel... engine goes wild?Last edited by niky; November 20th, 2015 at 05:03 PM.

Not sure Niky...not really sure. After calibration, no more issues. Can it go wild if injectors leak or have blockages? I noticed Mitsubishi vehicles smoke really bad. More smoke = more carbon buildup in engine parts including injectors right? And I also experienced sputtering ang power surges with my 2011 strada glx-v with under 5tkms. Sorry for hating the brand so much. Lol.

DZMM is really sticking to the case... I guess whoever did the research for them doesn't know how old this "problem" has been going..

dzmm has an "ear" for potentially interesting topics... along the lines of david and goliath.. the small person going up against the giant industrial monster or the big politician..
the poor versus the rich..
their personnel also have had their share of foot-in-mouth disease.
the station keeps me from falling asleep.
and they have saved me from getting stuck in traffic...
