October 3rd, 2017 11:47 AM #2need your help mga G4 owners / gurus ng tsikot...i am nearing my 10k PMS and plan ko na lumabas ng casa nalang (car is ~7 months). so far ok naman ang takbo ng mirage G4 ko, medyo naingay nga lang talaga
had a mirage HB (CVT) before at after my 5k PMS sa casa lumabas ng ako at sa Shell na ako nagpapachange oil pero ang concern ko is madami na bang shops ngayon na marunong na magpalit ng CVT fluid? plano ko sana ipasok sa CBV shop along cubao, Motech Mindanao Ave, Speedy Fix or Shell nalang ulit kaso di naman sila nagpapalit ng CVT dun afaik. Anyone with experience sa mga shops na nabanggit ko or may marerecommend ba kayo?

October 4th, 2017 10:35 AM #4hi sir *dr. d, sorry for the late response as i was out of the office yesterday. recommended CVT oil change is 40K and the noise i noticed is due to uneven roads, not coming from the tranny. Thanks!
btw, some say, wait for 3 years or till the warranty expires pero iniisip ko sobrang laki ng matitipid ko plus the fact na nakikita mo na ginagawa ng maayos yung PMS pag outside sa casa ka. your thoughts? thanks!

October 4th, 2017 10:40 AM #5for the neophyte, who does not know a money wrench from a monkey bar, casa is probably the safe choice. it is more expensive, but there is that "peace of mind" that they did it right. expensive, but right.
if you have the car serviced outside the official garage, there is always the chance that the mechanic wasn't trained adequately to service the quirks of your car. now, if you know cars and you see and understand what they do, then that's fine. you'll also sleep well at night.
i had my car serviced at the dealer's, during the warranty period.
after that, sa petron na lang. a fraction of the price of the oil change na, no waiting pa.

You can do most of the PMS maintenance jobs outside to decrease maintenance cost except probably for the CVT oil change of which the oil is currently only available sa casa as of my last check. As much as possible use only approved CVT oil to prolong the life of your CVT changing it as per dealer recommended intervals.
